The system as it is kind of entices migrants to make the trip. Free school, free healthcare, free xyz… Deportations would be painful, but things can’t keep going as they are.

You are an idiot. They are not eligible for most federal benefits.

Oh really?

Do public schools turn them away? No.

Do public hospitals turn them away? Also no.

I said “most” federal benefits. Their kids can attend schools and they can get emergency medical care at hospitals. They don’t get food stamps or housing or things like that.

You act like that’s not a lot of benefits…

Can I be an illegal immigrant in the UK or EU and just send my kid to school?

You can be ‘illegal’, as in, arrived illegally, or staying illegally, but you cannot be undocumented. Absolutely nothing can be done undocumented, you must have papers issued by an authority even if those state you are “temporary”, a “pending case” “asylum seeker”.

Less you forget who our governor is? He can’t wait to implement project 2025.

While Federal level issues are always a concern, Arlington has been spiraling down under all administrations for the past 10 years. I doubt any of Trump's puff is the true cause of our demise.

As a long-time observer of Arlington Public Schools, the core issues facing our district stem from administrative bloat and misallocation of experienced talent. Here's what needs immediate attention:

Administrative Accountability

We need a thorough review of current administrative positions and their actual impact on student outcomes
Many of our administrators hold teaching credentials but haven't been in a classroom for years
These certified educators should lead by example - if we're short-staffed, why aren't they helping teach?

Resource Reallocation

Administrative costs continue to rise while teachers struggle with basic classroom support
We should reassign qualified administrators back to teaching positions where they can directly impact student learning
This would immediately help address teacher shortages while reducing top-heavy bureaucracy

The path forward is clear:

Conduct an independent review of administrative effectiveness and necessity
Return qualified administrators to classroom positions where they can demonstrate best practices
Redirect administrative overhead to direct classroom support

Arlington's decline in state rankings isn't about politics - it's about losing focus on what matters: teaching our students. It's time for administrators to step out of their offices and back into classrooms where their teaching degrees can be put to proper use.

Then go say that on AEM under your real name instead of hiding on DCUM.

DCUM is full of closet MAGA Trumpies who can't wait for Project 2025 but won't say it out loud.

Its not just DCUM- went to a party this weekend and once the drinks starting flowing many families who put the "In this house..." signs in their yard were spouting off all sorts of misogynistic, anti LGBTQ+ rights rhetoric. They've gotten the green flag to fly their true beliefs.

Probably just saying, "ha ha Kamala lost." Much of the supposeds and what ifs and I heards in this forum are just fear-mongering from the Jussie Smolletts of the world. This is why indoctrination should be taken out of schools as well because teachers use fear and shame to blame some kids and reward others before they even understand what the discussion is about.

He is on the way out. His term is ending in 2025.

Why stop there! Let’s kick out all the kids with IEPs, since they take up most of the teacher’s time and cost the taxpayers the most. Also South Arlington doesn’t pay its fair share in taxes, so let’s split Arlington in two; they’re bringing down our average test scores anyway.
