School forums can be pretty nasty too. Specifically Montgomery County as that is the one I check but I would have to imagine the others are similar.

The politics forum is infested with truly extreme LWNJs. Even Jeff has said it’s a disaster.

So says a RWNJ MAGA!

I don't read politics very often, but for the other forum, the meanest posters are on the weekends. I find DCUM more pleasant during the week.

A lot of the elementary school kids threads are mean girlish. A lot of "are you dumb / stick to the schedule stupid / you're a terrible mom if your kids stay up past 6:30pm"

A lot of the relationship forum is very big on "well didn't you know that before you married them dummy" which is the most unhelpful comment EVER.

omg I remember- there used to be an anti-redshirting poster who was completely unhinged.

She still pops up every once in awhile and still refuses to understand that the school cutoff in the entire US apart from New York and the NYC suburbs is anywhere between 7/31-9/30. And when someone mentions holding back their July-September birthday kid she shows up like clockwork to say “that kid is in the middle of their class why would you do that.”

My son is an August 1 bday. He turned 18 TWO MONTHS after HS graduation, but there were redshirted kids in his class that had turned 19 in May. So there were classmates that were two years older. It is gross, especially with boys.

No, they were 15 months older than him. And I don’t really support extreme redshirting, but you’re exaggerating.

Back to the original question. I don't know which forum is meanest as I don't read them all. But, I am constantly amazed by the negative attitudes and lack of imagination by some posters. Even in a forum like travel where you might ask for ideas on where to go on summer vacation half the posters will do nothing but list the disaster that will befall you if you leave your home. I definitely wonder what these type of people are like in real life. Do they only do this in an online anonymous forum or are they negative all the time and these forums just feed that negativity?
