These would be temporary work permits while immigration courts review their cases and determine if they qualify for asylum, which is not at all easy. And if they don't, they get deported. This does require more funding for the immigration courts, but as someone with NO legitimate role as an elected politician at the time, Trump took steps to make sure the actual elected politicians didn't pass it. |
You are joking, right? Do you know how many of these people actually leave the country when their asylum claims are denied? Maybe look into that... because the number is incredibly low. They stay. And, then we have Democrats whining that these people have been here so long so it is important to give them amnesty. Nope. They break our laws to enter. They break our laws to stay. And, Democrats want to reward them. Hell no. |
Because like Europe, the Dems crunched the numbers and finally realized they have a replacement problem in the next 20 years as Gen Z and millennials opt out from having kids due to sexuality change, gender change, climate change or due to living with parents or failure to launch among other things. They need new young blood as a voter base hence migrants. They want so many here because they know it’d be impossible to deport 10 million people back. They want to grant them automatic citizenship so they can vote. It doesn’t matter if they don’t know English or can decide on juries of their peers whether American citizens should go to jail or not. They will make the ballots in other languages too if they have to. They need a population base as Gen Z is failure to launch and won’t reproduce for them at the rate they need to fight the Republican Party |
They will not keep them on the Cape because that’s a huge tourist draw and moneymaker for MA |
Few things: Gen Z isn’t failure to launch. Many are unable to launch due to cost of living. And yeah they see the writing on the wall in terms of climate change and don’t want to bring kids into it. Also-it’s not Dems trying to replace their voter base. It’s both sides concerned about not having enough of newer generation to replace and take care of the older ones. Finally-neither side is willing to go after companies that hire undocumented workers. Why is that? I agree immigration is a mess and needs to be curtailed. But this is not just a Dem issue. |

And our homeless vets? Who cares for them?
love this one - hypocrite https://www.nytimes.com/2024/07/25/us/newsom-homeless-california.html Newsom Orders California Officials to Remove Homeless Encampments But keep voting for Democrats. It will definitely strengthen our nation. . . |
I thought it was the MAGA who were facing being replaced which is why they keep pushing the "replacement theory", and partly why they want to ban abortion, and why people like Vance are pushing marriage and children. If you look at the numbers, white women have one of the lowest birth rates. So, even if we stop all illegal immigration, white people will eventually become the minority because they just aren't reproducing enough. |
I'm sorry.. what? So, you, a R, thinks we should keep homeless encampments? |
Certainly not the Republicans. |
| I'm sitting at the fountain in the Boston Common right now. It's sad. All addicts, twerkers and people coming up or coming down. A really sad sight. Shocking actually the drug paraphenelia you see on the ground around the park. The State House borders the park to the west. |

Google thinks Mass gdp last year was 615 billion. 1.8 is less than 1 percent. It’s less than half a percent.
Just not sure it’s the tragedy you are making it out to be. |
They do not get deported if they reproduce and magically become parent of a U.S. Citizen child. A privilege that only our country seems to be dumb enough to bestow on babies born to people here illegally. |
Sad state of affairs, but most of them probably don't want to go into a treatment center. |
Canada says, hello. |
Black women also are growing in childless rates. This is not unique to America. All Western nations have had to embrace immigration because fertility rates usually go down the higher a country goes up in educational attainment and human development index. Japan, which isn’t an immigration hub, is also struggling with this |
