I’m writing from a Boston suburb. There’s no chance we will flip. None.

Arlington? Newton? Cambridge? Another segregated suburb?

Due to influx of migrants in Massachusetts, they estimate will cost the State $ 1 Billion per year. Discussions about raising taxes or it will sink their economy.

Imagine cost is even more migrants come to Mass in the next few years. Costs would balloon even further?

I used to live there. My parents and family there are outraged.

What great news for the population and work force?

Many new skilled, literate and educated economic migrants ready to work, pay taxes and grow the Massachusetts economy!

Senator Warren is all in for letting in more and granting amnesty and citizenship.

Granting them citizenship is a great idea. Do it in time for them to vote in November.

Not at all fair to the legal immigrants who are working hard to learn English and pass their citizenship test.

Depending on what family-sponsored category one falls under, some people who applied for citizenship MORE THAN TWENTY YEARS AGO are still awaiting an interview for their green card. I'd be livid if that were me.

Too bad too sad. We can't let the entire world move here. There have to the restrictions or the US will be completely overwhelmed with migrants.

Then enjoy your increased taxes and over crowded and over burdened schools.

The smart people will move to New Hampshire.

I’m the Boston poster.

I’m happy with the Gov’s 5 day plan and the enumerated priorities for access. People may come here, but it will be too expensive to stay. They will go to NH and ME.

Many of these illegal migrants have no useful skills, they are illiterate, and don't speak English. We should reject all asylum seekers and migrants that do not pass an English proficiency test and an aptitude test.

Dude, I agree with you. The point I was trying to make is if I'd be pissed if I were one of those people who has been waiting in good faith for more than 20 years for citizenship and instead, all these people who crossed unlawfully (ie illegally) in the meantime are granted amnesty as Sen. Warren suggested Harris will do.

And you’d be a moron for blaming Biden when you SHOULD instead be blaming Governor Abott of Texas and Governor DeSantis of Florida for shipping people to other states instead of taking care of them where they came into America.

Massachusetts needs to sue Texas and Florida into bankruptcy.

Why should Texas and Florida bear the brunt of the Biden Harris open border policy? Massachusetts has plenty of sanctuary cities to help spread the burden. Or are they just sanctuary cities until the migrants actually show up?

Because Texas and Florida get extra money to help with this. Massachusetts does not.

They in fact, do not.

Please show me where in the federal budget than Texas itself specifically receives money in order for them to provide shelter, food, medical care for asylum seekers— that non-border states can not themselves receive.

I have asked this NUMEROUS times, in numerous places online. No one can ever answer me. They normally just show me a number for federal money received by Texas for everything every other state also receives money for. Or point out border patrol budgets (border patrol is not migrant caretaking service, they process and release migrants into the interior. They do not provide them with resources).

I’m asking for money given to Texas to take care of recently crossed migrants specifically.

If you can prove to me there is this magic pot of money for Border states to provide for migrants, but that Texas is instead doing something else with it I have no problem admitting that I was wrong.

Sadly no one has ever taken me up on this.

This.

So sanctuary cities are empty promises? Typical.

Can we apply this logic to Republican states that bemoan government finances and yet receive the most in federal finances every single year, contributing the least to the union? Arm for the Arm.

Only if you show the math for taking without defense spending or welfare spending on Dems in red states. See, for example, welfare in Jackson, MS is not going to Repubs.

Do you have any actual data to back that up? Do you think they just hatched out of eggs and immediately started running northward to the US border? Do you not think they had lives before leaving? While some of them might not have robust education or work background, there are a lot of them who actually do - in fact there are engineers, lawyers and other people who fled bad conditions to come to the US.

Also, people like you and Trump have incredibly naive and underinformed knowledge of what the laws actually are - you think you can just "round 'em all up and do a mass deportation" - that's actually illegal and unconstitutional. The Constitution guarantees a right of due process and the laws say they must first be given a fair hearing or trial before they can be deported.
