No way. Her hair looks great.

+1 And the longer hair is more youthful which is pretty important in this race.

From the category of “the worst person you know just made a great point,” I give you this:

LOL! I thought that when I realized KH is going to be 60 this year! She's still a spring chicken.

Unlike some on the Hill, who should have hung it up YEARS ago!

It’s fine to have a thread for spouses and family members. But the nominees are off limits. If you wouldn’t have a thread for Trump or for Biden in terms of fashion, then there shouldn’t be one for Harris.

You have got to be kidding. YOU decide it's fine to critique spouses and family members, but somehow not the nominees? What a hoot. Kamala is very much fair game, and that starts now, not when/if she wins. Here's one of my least favorite looks, the oversized, ill-fitting pantsuit, usually in a shade of brown:

Because they are men, no one cares about their fashion. No one is off limits here. Carry on!

Can't believe the defensiveness. Of course we're going to discuss her fashion choices.

Like, none of this seems on anyone's priority radar. In either political party. Which is a really huge jump in 5-10 years, right?

So what do I think about her clothes? Well, the OP's question is the first time I've thought about it ever (good sign). Historically, she's always come across very well on stage, like any other president or VP - which I guess means she should keep doing what she's doing: Neutral, well fitted suits that don't distract. Basically, same answer as Biden, Obama, etc etc. (To keep it party neutral, I would say trump, but i've always thought his suits are very ill-fitting and distracting; first time i saw him at a debate, I asked my DH what they hell he was wearing, because it was so distracting).

Point being: I am pretty excited we're at a place where, at least for me, this is a non-question.

Agree with this. Nancy Pelosi makes better/more interesting fashion choices but Kamala always looks good and appropriate. She must get all her clothes tailored as they usually fit very well.

I think most of her jackets fit her very poorly. Boxy and shapeless.

I agree.

We wouldn’t do this to a male candidate. Ugh.

Pretty sure we talked about Hillary’s pant suits. Why would Kamala be off limits? This is a fashion board.

That wasn't the question. Do you talk about what men wear? If she wore her bathroom and fuzzy slippers I would still vote for her over that orange man!

DP. This thread is not about "that orange man," unlike 90% of the threads on this forum. I'm afraid you're just going to have to deal with people discussing Kamala Harris's "fashion" choices, just like there are threads about Usha Vance, the Trump women, Jill Biden, and other notable women (and some men). You can't censor discussion of her just because she's the nominee. If anything, there will be far MORE discussion about all aspects of her life now - just as there is with any candidate. Deal with it.

Agree. And I'm not a fan of the strangely cut higher necked asymmetrical blouses she wears a lot. Not flattering at all.

I’m sure she wears a bullet proof vest. You have to do boxy jackets with the vest.

Agree that this is the cause of the odd shirt choices sometimes and the boxy jackets. I feel like she used to dress better pre-VP (like during the 2020 Dem primary) and I think she's very attractive.

That blouse is just so odd.

Yes I think she has to wear higher necked blouses and boxier jackets for public events due to a bullet proof vest. I'm betting she wore a more serious one than ever before this week due to new protocols since the assassination attempt on Trump and that might be why they went with that blouse with the draping and the asymmetrical neckline. All I could think was how freaking hot she must have been but she didn't show it! Everyone else in those pics was in short sleeves or tanks.

I like that it doesn't look like she's overdone Botox or really some any fillers. Many politicians (including Joe Biden) overdo the Botox around their eyes and I dislike the effect. I'm sure she gets it in her forehead but she doesn't have that frozen face effect so I think she uses less. She looks great but she also looks her age and I think that's actually helpful for a presidential candidate who is asking for the trust of people to do a very serious job. Her age is a big asset because she's very experienced and mature but not so old that you worry about dementia or losing a step. So no reason to try and look 45. Her age is perfect for the job.

Some of us are questioning the 'of course we are discussing HER fashion choices' as if this is silly even to push back.

Yes, I know this is fashion but when will we be taken seriously if this is a major discussion?

Just think about that.

And my friend you will have to deal with me raising these issues. Sorry, not sorry.

I don't think that's the reason. I just found this thread and was surprised it took so long for somebody to point out how poorly all her jackets fit. They are all too big. She needs tailoring. And I really noticed it in a few of the photos of her alongside Biden. His suits are very well-tailored and not big and boxy due to a bullet-proof vest. She just doesn't have custom or tailored suits, so they don't fit.
