What’s your favorite specific? |
How is something a right to liberty that you must rely on a third person to exercise? (Perform the abortion / develop and regulate the abortifacient). If all doctors refused to perform abortions, how would that “right of liberty” be exist? If a right is dependent upon someone other than myself then it does not seem to be a liberty interest. |
Because it’s not a federal constitutional right. It’s not in there. If you want one, go through the proper channel - a constitutional amendment. Until then, abortion is a state matter. |
It sounds like you are saying slaves chose to be slaves since they didn’t need to rely on a “third” (? Not sure what happened to the second) person to exercise their right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness. |
The constitution doesn’t mention he right to ammunition specifically so why can’t we send that to the states to determine as well? |
How dense are you? Rhetorical question, btw. Who do you think “the people and their representatives” are?? THE STATES. |
Cancer treatment is not a constitutional right. Growing apples is not a constitutional right. Fishing in public waters is not a constitutional right. Driving a vehicle is not a constitutional right. Should we keep going down this road? |
NP here: No way, you're making a big assumption. The Dobbs ruling was purposely vague on this. Absent another ruling from the SC to better clarify, it absolutely left open the door for a federal law to ban abortion. |
Precisely. Stamping feet and throwing tantrums is effectively doing nothing. States now decide the issue of abortion. |
All of them, listed 1-20 near the beginning of the document. If YOU have a specific you’d like to discuss, say so. |
DP. Stop gaslighting. There are no specifics listed in the document. It's literally the GOP's last minute attempt to distract from their true platform, Project 2025, while masquerading that this beyond basic document is their platform. Perhaps this might work on simple-minded folks, such as yourself, but the rest of us aren't buying it. |
The Constitution is a negative check on govt so you would not find that n there. It keeps the govt from becoming tyrannical. You can send whatever you want to the states. Will they listen to you? |
As it should be. |
DP. Serious question: are you able to read? Because this document clearly lays out the GOP platform. You are obviously one of the simple-minded people you reference. Your Project 2025 deflection can be hysterically discussed on the thread about that. This is not it. https://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/24795052/2024-gop-platform-july-7-final.pdf |
