And the bizarre capitalization and ALL CAPs all over the place? It's like they are attacking you as you read it.

The work of complete nutjobs.

It’s their slavish fealty to Rumpus and the stupid way he writes. It’s a cult.

Yes! This is what struck me the most about the document. The way the people who wrote it broke basic rules of writing to accommodate Trump's idiosyncratic style. I found it quite chilling. It is still so bizarre to me that a single party is so beholden to this cartoonish and dumb clown that they will do anything to please him. They are literally bending over and offering up their posteriors to him.

Attendees were told Trump was personally editing the document.

More like a 5th grade reading level. I think it was dumbed down for Dear Leader. The big tell is that it employs his use of all-caps and noun caps for emphasis and readability (useful when you have ADHD). The English major in me is cringing. Are future government documents in a Trump Administration going to be peppered with caps and exclamation points?!

Americans with ADHD are also voters. Wanting guiding documents of government to be hard to read is disgusting elitism.

If you aren't using the English language to communicate, you are doing it wrong.

The US Constitution uses Capped Words, for Christ's sake.

You should get a refund for your English degree, which has failed you.

Names some specifics. Not general pablum.

The entire document lists specifics, which you are welcome to read at any time. But you won’t because it’s easier to just dismiss anything you don’t agree with as “pablum.” Keep on sulking, I guess!

What’s your favorite specific?

All of them, listed 1-20 near the beginning of the document. If YOU have a specific you’d like to discuss, say so.

DP. Stop gaslighting. There are no specifics listed in the document. It's literally the GOP's last minute attempt to distract from their true platform, Project 2025, while masquerading that this beyond basic document is their platform.

Perhaps this might work on simple-minded folks, such as yourself, but the rest of us aren't buying it.

DP. Serious question: are you able to read? Because this document clearly lays out the GOP platform. You are obviously one of the simple-minded people you reference. Your Project 2025 deflection can be hysterically discussed on the thread about that. This is not it.

Sorry, with sarcasm. Project 2025 is the R platform.

It's such a simpleton platform.

But of course, look at his simpleton voters.

This platform is NOT Project 2025.

Stop with the conspiracy theories.

+1
Project 2025 and Agenda 47 are the agenda. Authoritarianism and the end of democracy.

That would certainly explain the ALL CAPS and the Randomly Capitalized Words and the dumb slogans and other things. However, in many ways it still mirrors Project 2025 at a high level, with a few minor variances - they both advocate for the same economic policies of tax cuts and deregulation, both have the same energy policy, both basically the same border and immigration policies, both pretty much the same on judicial and legal issues. There are only a few areas of divergence - the Trump/RNC platform goes farther on social conservatism, where it comes to threats to cut school funding over imaginary CRT and other things, the Trump/RNC platform is more isolationist than 2025, and so on.

DP... The repetition and redundancy, the run-on sentences and lack of visual breaks throughout the platform document would lead to disengagement and frustration for someone with ADHD. The run-on rambling, repetition and redundancy also makes it hard to stay engaged during Trump's speeches. Also, the Constitution was written over 200 years ago in a style that hasn't been used since the early to mid 19th century. Noah Webster's 1828 Dictionary led to standardization of English over the two decades following its publication.

Anyone claiming Heritage Foundation (or as Trump pronounces it with his dementia slur, "herujuj") isn't writing Trump's plans and playbooks is lying.
