How well known are “lower-tier” Ivys internationally?

Perhaps they have not yet corrected for the fraudulent data reported by Columbia.

The data for global ranking is only from objective data, not the kind of biased survey data the undergraduate ranking is using.

Columbia has been intentionally reporting false objective data about themself to boost their rankings. It has nothing to do with surveys.

Uhhh no. Columbia falsified data that led to higher rankings for a decade. Both were t10 then and columbia rightfully is not now. Penn ranks higher in US and world ratings for clear objective reasons. Both are much more renowned than the bottom ivies, Dartmouth/Brown/Cornell but Penn is no question ahead of Columbia and has been for almost 50 yrs

Columbia/Cornell/Dartmouth are the bottom Ivies. Brown is above them, but below Penn.

In my experience in west and southern Africa:

HYSP & Berkeley are very well known.
Other top tier state schools like Michigan and Wisconsin are also well known, definitely more than Brown/Cornell/Dartmouth, I think partly because they are large enough that ppl are reasonably likely to have come across someone who went there.

Then the more science-focused privates like MIT, Hopkins, Carnegie Mellon, because medicine, science, and engineering are very prestigious career paths, even more than in the US.
