MCPS doesn't have virtual programs, except for the Edmentum courses.

Summer programs are virtual. They also outsource to Montgomery college and sone of those are virtual.

MVA parent here. I haven't read through all the comments. To answer your question, we are going to BYU Online HS. They are the closest match we found to MVA. Synchronous classes are held Monday-Thursday, and Friday is asynchronous with student support, clubs, etc. DC is planning to use that time for in-person EC.

MVA was fantastic, and DC advanced so much academically; I am just blown away. They never made that much progress in any other setting before. DC has an IEP

What are you going to need to do in terms of paperwork? From what I understand, since these aren't approved virtual programs with MSDE, parents will need to say they're homeschooling.

It is technically a homeschool, but as a parent you do not need to keep a “portfolio” of your child’s work. All you have to do is submit report cards (or so I was told by an MCPS homeschool rep).
