MVA closed: switch to private virtual?

Virtual academy families - anyone going “private” for virtual school for next year?

What online programs are you considering?

Wondering if we can find enough students to get a group rate.

Why not go in person?

I don't want my kids to become overly concerned about fashion, as discussed in https://moco360.media/2024/06/03/mcps-virtual-academy-families-stage-sit-in-to-protest-loss-of-program/

Buy some school spirit wear and have your kids go in those clothes. Next.

You might want to ask Jeff to move this to either homeschooling or private school forums. There's just been too much back-and-forth on the MCPS forum for you to get good information here.

The OP is obviously a troll. No one is going to do this. They're just looking to stir up an argument.

+1 this is a bizarre forum to do what OP is proposing. And anonymously at that. Gtfooh.

What a joke... real homeschoolers can't have a conversation on that forum because of all of the people crowding on to tell them they are weird and abusing their kids.

Do you condone child abuse?

I don't think any great options have been identified that are equal to the MVA.

Equal in what sense? The high chronic absenteeism relative to in-person rates? The poor graduation rates relative to in-person averages? The significant gap in achievement results particularly for the youngest and poorest students as compared to in-person achievement results? The rapidly declining enrollment year over year?

Funny you are parroting the same words as Felder and yet none of that is documented.
Where is all that data?
