I could almost care less except for the fact that sooooooooooooooo many people we know belong to that club and willingly pay for these discriminatory practices yet are appalled by discrimination outside of the club.

My husband and I declined an offer to be members there years ago because of the separate dining areas and some other unacceptable attitudes.

It’s mind numbing watching these kinds of things happen and people not having the strength of character to do the right thing

Why were you even on the waitlist then?

You clearly don’t belong to a country club. They’re very common. Even in the DC area.

Umm, you do realize there are many of us who belong to clubs with no gender based dining options, correct?

Also, where does a trans member eat in such a situation?

And don’t tell me that WGCC doesn’t have trans members because I know members of that club with trans children.

Half the kids in Arlington are trans -- NBD.

Sit with that for a bit.

One of the wokest, most liberal neighborhoods in Arlington has an apartheid wall at its northern border to keep out the black residents of Halls Hill and Highview Park. They refuse to remove it because of its "historic" nature. Maybe once Halls Hill and Highview Park are completely gentrified, the will remove the wall.

As America is one election away from becoming an autocracy, the women of this country may want to consider what happened in Iran.

That's a funny-looking kitchen behind them.

That's the entrance to the Niravan Complex where the Shah of Iran and Farah Diba lived

Hope the club is fully financially independent of any government support or subsidy if it wants to keep its males only dining.

Recent case law has found that status as a tax exempt organization is considered federal financial assistance.

Hope they read this is rethink their capital improvement plan.

Yes, all the old geezers who hang out in the men's grill at WGCC are regular readers of DCUM.

Women members are not subsidizing spaces they can’t enter at Burning Tree. Further, Burning Tree isn’t suckling at the government teat.

And the course at Burning Tree, while not the best, is still vastly superior to the WGCC pitch and putt track. WG’s course is a joke.

Because they don’t want to be around a bunch of fat screeching women.

Ask Gov. McAuliffe.

YOU should have the strength of character to have studied harder in school and worked harder at your job so you didn’t end up in that lower tier neighborhood in the first place.

Yes, please fight. I want to get my hands on that real estate to develop it!!

Just like Al said, golf courses and cemeteries are the biggest wastes of prime real estate!

I know -- this is a BS post. No one is offered a membership to decline. In fact half of the initiation fee has to be paid before you would come off the wait list so no this did nto happen.
