Well Biden did not arrest the protesters.

You mean with his national police force that has jurisdiction on campus? Oh, that's right. He doesn't have one because that would make him a dictator.

Back during the ‘Nam protests presidents would call up the national guard to disperse protesters, often violently.

Really shows priorities. Peaceful protests against war got shut down by the guard, violent protests calling for Jewish genocide can go on without issue.

We look back on that time as anti-democratic and a shameful episode on our nation's history. By the way, the protesters were clearly right about Vietnam.

Which is the point, our government was willing to sic the guard on anti-war protesters who were clearly in the right and protesting American involvement in Viet Nam, but refuses to dispatch the guard to protect innocent Jewish Americans being attacked and targeted by extremist Islamists and Hamas terrorists in our streets and colleges.

It shows a clear and inarguable bias that is not appropriate, and shows the level of anti-Semitism at the top reaches of our government.

Okay, but how would repeating a policy that was clearly a mistake be a good thing, again? I guess I'm just not connecting the dots. What do you want here?

Why?!?! What did the Trump administration do that was even remotely antisemitic?

I don’t even know how to respond to such a dumb blanket statement, but I’ll try.

Starting with FDR, pretty much every democratic president (with the notable exception of Clinton) has been a raging antisemite. FDR refused to let Jews trying to escape Nazi Germany into the US. FDR refused to bomb railways leading to concentration camps. He refused to bomb the camps themselves, too, of course. When Polish resistance worker, Jan Karski, met with FDR and detailed the Holocaust and begged him to help the Jews, FDR couldn’t care less and asked about how the horses were doing.

His wife hated Jews, too. She wrote appealing letters to her mom about how awful Jews were. (But who cares, she wrote the into to the American version of the Diary of Anne Frank, so all is forgiven.)

And yet American Jews love FDR. They thank god he was president. My guess is this cognitive dissonance is because of a tremendous guilt for basically looking the other way while their relatives (literally) were being murdered. They doubled down on their support of Democrats and for Civil Rights to appease that guilt. “See, we’re not really cowards or bad people, we’re helping the Blacks, right?”

And it’s gone on like that for several generations, despite all signs that the Democrats were growing increasingly antisemitic, of course, thinly veiled in anti-Zionism. Jimmy Carter alone should have moved American Jews to the right. And don’t get me started on Barry.

But, there’s always the ludicrous nonsensical argument that Trump supporters are Neo-nazis ready to start internment camps. Meanwhile, this ignores the reality that he has no affiliation with any far right groups and that most of his supporters are moderates who want a return to less inflation and stronger borders.

The reality is that most people, like my Jewish ass, who are probably going to vote for Trump are doing so because we are sick of DEI and leftist ideology infiltrating all of our institutions. We love our country and our borders and are disgusted to see a Palestinian flag flying over any campus in the US.

I’m sure Trump is a narcissist and a blow hard, and he’s hardly an ideal leader. But as I remember, because it wasn’t long ago, everything was better with his administration. And I could walk across a college campus without getting accosted for my Jewish face.

Because Trump is a danger to this country. He has proven himself incapable of keeping national security secrets secret.

Do you want him to put an image of a satellite photo he got from Israel on Truth Social? Because that is the kind of shlt he does.

Most of our allies don't trust Trump, so they won't share their intel with us. It cripples our ability to protect our national security.

Like I said, cut off your nose to spite your face.

And I am sick of DEI, too, btw. I'm a former R, but DEI is nothing compared to our national security. You are, or used to be a Dem, which is why you don't understand how critical it is for our country to have trusted allies for our national security and have a POTUS who doesn't tweet national security information for the world to see.

You too are delusional. All the many, many people who I know who are voting for Trump are doing it while holding their noses. Anything is better than Biden. The only thing worse would be Kamala. I’ve seen the other option and it’s better.

They are holding their nose and voting for Trump because they are delusional about how Trump is a danger to this country. Or, they are ignorant.

Hey, I’m not a fan of Trumps, but at least he doesn’t sh-t his diapers like Biden.

I can’t get over how much obvious antisemitism I see—even at my own child’s college—and how I’m being gaslighted and told by non Jews that what I’m seeing doesn’t exist or that since there are some Jews who agree, it can’t be Jew hating.

I can’t imagine voting for Trump, and I genuinely think Biden supports Jews. But I want to send a message to the left wing of the Democratic Party that they are taking Jewish support for granted.

Right now I would not give a blanket vote to any down ticket Democrat without looking at their record on Jews and Israel. And there’s a part of me that really isn’t sure I won’t vote for Trump just because I’m so angry.

Jew and moderate Dem here. I'm not changing my vote from Biden and, honestly, probably not down-ballot either, though I'm always open to splitting my vote down-ballot based on local policy and governance. I'm not changing my vote for a few different reasons:

1. The leftist wing of the party has always been antisemitic. If you're just now noticing that, you haven't been paying attention. Jews supporting leftist causes have had to leave our Jewishness at the door in order to fight for our intersectional identities and support our allies (BLM leaders came out with BDS stances years ago; Pride parades barred the Star of David for Jewish LGBTQ marchers because the organizers couldn't accept it as a Jewish symbol and not just Israel's flag; the Women's March leaders are proud antisemites). The language of DEI and intersectionality has, for a long time now, placed Jewish identity in a privileged/oppressor position that The Left can't fight to protect. That doesn't mean I (and the majority of other Jews) don't share many of the same liberal values, but that my Jewishness in those spaces is not welcomed or must be minimized in order to fight the good fight.

2. Voting against Dems isn't going to "send a message" to them; it's just going to remove my Jewish voice from the party.

3. What's happening on college campuses is awful. But most kids are going to class and lining up summer jobs. We're just only hearing from the loud ones. Biden's not out there courting their vote and neither are most Dems running for office.

4. I vote on a number of issues. Support for Israel is one of them and I've been okay with Biden's level of support for Israel. Combatting antisemitism is another one and I don't think the GOP would do any better, given that their recent track record was under the same candidate. Maybe if they were running someone else, I might take a closer look at that. But women's rights, healthcare, and gun laws are also up there on my priority list and none of my positions on those issues are even a little bit aligned with the GOP at this time.

Anonymous wrote:OP, think of it from the GOP’s perspective. Decades of unwavering support for Israel. Bush Junior sacrificed his presidency to get rid of Saddam Hussein, who was Israel’s greatest enemy at the time. Trump crushed ISIS in Syria and brokered the Abraham Accords.

What is the GOP’s reward? Never more than a third of the Jewish vote. Trump got 30% in 2020. And here we are again, like Lucy holding the football for Charlie Brown, “maybe this time…” And in November it’s a cascade of votes for the other side.

Yeah how weird that we don't want the guy who nestles in with the "Jews will not replace us" marchers. How totally weird.

Also, please remember: support for Israel is not the same as supporting American Jews. Yes, American Jews by and large agree that Israel should exist and the US should play a role in defending it. But that is not ALL we care about - and in any case, Biden has been a good for Israel as anyone from the Charlottesville march party.

jesus christ, when we say that it's a joke. "here's why that's bad for the jews," when movie popcorn goes up in price.

that said, i can look at the college protests and see that's bad for the jews for real - and bad for the country beyond what's bad for the jews.

Plus I loathe everything Trump is and what he stands for.

So, no. I will be voting for Biden this November.

I will also vote opposite of the campus protesters. I’m disappointed that the students who are supposed to be among our brightest have fallen for Tik Tok propaganda. When challenged many of them have no idea of the issues.

Well they want Cornell West or RFK Jr so don't vote for either of those guys
