Brilliant. Mindy should hire young single ladies and gentlemen to work for her and meet hese dependents and marry one, like air stewardess of yore. Save the expense of going to expensive colllr just to get that MRS/MR degree.

Put your kid in the military and GROW UP.

Beautiful to see this comment right after the comment explaining that the military alert provides this service.

Where can I find something like MindyKNOWS for Cornell?
https://mindyknows.com/

Should I post on a local site?

Cost is not an issue. Happy to pay a monthly fee.

Btw, I think this is a huge business opportunity....

"Business opportunity"??? Holy crap. Y'all don't even see what you are doing to your kids. Just stop. Repeat after me: College is a time to LEARN and GROW. What are you going to do when they get to their workplace? Hand deliver their lunch? Do their job for them? Listen to yourselves.

Wait till you find out that VPS and CEOs at the workplace have "girls" to take care of their needs.

When you attend college, this is what friends are for. You have to try real-hard not to develop some type of community/support system at college. You have roommates, A hall full of students, a dorm full of students, Residents Assistants, Graduate Assistants. Everywhere you look there are people to help - college is basically set-up for this.

All those folks don't replace you as a parent.

This is so insane to me.

When I got mono in college, my parents sent me a blender.

When I ran out of money freshman year, I did my laundry in the bathtub of the 1-bedroom house I was renting with 2 other girls. Talking to my sister years later, turns out she did the same thing.

I worked full time in college, taking just 4 classes at a time, so it was do-able. Freshman year I had not established myself yet at my job. But after a year I was head server at an exclusive club and made enough money to take my laundry to the laundromat that also was a bar. Brilliant idea. Wonderful memories when poverty was romantic.

So yeah, I had to share this thread with friends and we all had a really good laugh.

My kid got both mono and the flu first year and managed to survive without me coming to get them or coming there and they go 7 hours from home. I guess I’m the worst parents ever.

I wonder what Tulane, washu, and Emory have in common

What do they have in common?

Neurotypical kids apparently!!

Anonymous wrote:Bizarre thread, though I have seen some "care package delivery moms" post on Facebook.

The bummer is that I could picture a poor/working class kid taking on the job of delivering cold medicine to a privileged kid because the money means something to them.

Why is that a bummer? I did a rich kid’s laundry in college for $40-50 each time. It was awesome!!

People love her and pass her name around. You pay her a monthly fee. She cooks/checks in, buys groceries, drives them to target/WF and airport. Also to sports or dr appts.

And why can’t the students do these things on their own?

🙄
As with almost all advice on this forum yea of course it applies to NT kids. SN kids need different things. If you need to coddle them still due their disabilities then do that. But for MOST kids this is a harmful service not a helpful one.

Regular college kids are not subjected to the super intense, stressful process that academy freshmen endure. It’s appropriate for supporting the academy kids going through a unique experience. Not appropriate for your typical freshmen at a regular college.
