Heed this warning. They are literally telling you they don't care.

His son was killed at Abbey Gate. A preventable death, based on testimony a year later. His other son committed suicide on the grave of his dead son. He couldn't deal with the loss.
Biden has NEVER said their names publicly. He checked his watch at the dignified transfer of remains. The WH will not return the calls of the parents or meet with the parents to have their questions answered.

And, when Biden said, "All Americans deserve the freedom to be safe and America is safer today than when I took office," the comment put him over the top.

I totally understand his passion and his anger.

And, BTW - it was 13 deaths. And, 10 more innocent Afghans were droned to death.

+ a million!

Two years ago, a horrific terrorist attack at Abbey Gate outside Kabul's Hamid Karzai International Airport killed 13 brave American heroes, as well as approximately 170 Afghan civilians.

In the final days of America's war in Afghanistan, the men and women of the United States military undertook a tremendously difficult task amid hazardous conditions. Along with the rest of their teammates, these 13 Service members—11 Marines, a Soldier, and a Sailor—tackled their mission with skill, compassion, and extraordinary courage. Their selflessness and valor helped defend their comrades and lift tens of thousands of Afghans to safety, allowing them to pursue new lives in freedom.

Speech and debate clause of the Constitution (I hate MTG BTW, but that’s the answer).

Biden should understand how this father “lost his sense.”

Jill proclaims they are a “military family.”

Yet they let a Gold Star Father get arrested. Hypocrites.

Take it up with the Speaker.

Speaker has NOTHING to do with filing criminal charges. That is up to Biden appointed US Attorney for DC.

Were criminal charges filed, or was he just removed? Genuine question.

You can "+ a million!" it all you want, it's not going to change the fact there was a law, and he broke it. Or, is it ok for him to rob a bank, now, too?

So he was almost immediately released on his own recognizance, and will, at most, pay a small fine and do some community service. But most likely be deferred and face no real consequences unless he gets arrested again? That seems reasonable.

Look, I’d be furious if I lost a kid too. But if I couldn’t control myself enough to stay within the bounds of the law during the SOTU, I’d decline attendance. Having a tragedy happen doesn’t insulate you from legal responsibility for your actions. If it’s okay for him to heckle the SOTU, what other laws can he break? Would his grief be an acceptable excuse if he was the guy who was arrested at the Capital a couple days ago for trying to bring in a hammer into the building and then attacking capital police who caught it at screening? If he had made it in and attacked a staffer for a member of the House or Senate on Armed Services? If he had attacked a member of the House or Senate (either party)? If it had been a gun? If he had shot someone?

Where do you draw the line as to what laws Gold Star families can beak due to grief?

Also— I think any sane and normal person know that the Architect of the Capital didn’t make the real time call to arrest this guy. (neither did Biden or Mike Jordan, who were on live TV). And that if POTUS had real power over the actions of Capital Police 1/6 would have ended very differently. Speaking of which, I also understand why Capital Police might be jumpy about out of control members of the public (which this guy was— unless you are saying his reaction was staged, which would mean Rs are using Gold Star family members as props)— especially with POTUS in attendance. They have also suffered a collective trauma, including deaths of their fellow officers.

We will just pretend he’s an illegal alien and give him free medical insurance, an EBT card, and a free apartment.

You think Sandy Hook and Uvalde are clown car issues and only Democrats care? That says something about Republicans. And it isn’t good. But, it raises. Good question. Okay if a parent of school shooting victim had heckled Trump? Or no?

He did it on purpose to call attention to the US Marines and Military members killed at Abbey Gate. The men and women Biden ignores, and America ignores.

He didn’t say anything disrespectful about Biden or America. He is a good father who has lost 2 sons and wanted America and Biden to remember Abbey Gate and our fallen. He did a great job, and I know he accomplished what he set out to do because dcum is talking about Abbey Gate.

Nope. Who can break laws and what laws can be broken using grief as an excuse is the entire point of this thread.

They could have just removed him. Why arrest him? Did the protesters outside get arrested? The folks screaming “4 more years” get arrested?

DCUM aren’t the people his actions would convince.

Also, if it was intentional, do the crime and do the time. Unless Rs want to defund the Capital Police?

DP... why should we ONLY care about the death of this one guy in Afghanistan and nobody else?

It's pure politicization that you think the discussion needs to be hyperconstrained to this and this only at the expense of everything else. And, we keep bringing up mass shootings because those issues have been around for much much longer and responsible for many many more deaths and have not been addressed or answered in any way, shape or form. So if you want to bring up Nikoui how about YOU take a number and get in line and wait till our issues have been addressed.
