Way more than 100 admitted over 100 attend. |
Moco360 shows 367 from MBHS were admitted to UMDCP in 2023 |
Read carefully again 367 applied, 157 admitted, 71 enrolled |
About 40% of magnet grads have gone to UMD in recent years because their families are working class/MD and do not have the money to send them to more expensive private colleges. Most magnet parents aren't rich. What a ridiculous thing to say. |

I'm curious about the 2 kids from Blair who got into Harvard and didn't attend? What's the story? A different private like MIT or CalTech? It would be interesting if they chose state instead.
|
One of them went to a different private. I don't know the other one. |
Which one? |
Where the hell are you getting your numbers? Do you even have kids at Blair? The ~750 students class includes both the SMCS and CAP. Also, CAP is ~75 students. 30-40 SMCS students accept UMD admission offers every year. You clearly have no idea of what you are talking about. |
Moco360 says 367 admitted but doesn't provide the other numbers you made up. |
You realize they're just making this up right? |
Exactly, I prefer to stick with credible ata like what Moco360 has published. Not these numbers the other posters is getting out of their axe. |
That's amazing! My FCPS HS which had over 2k students and was ranked top 5 HS in VA only sent maybe 6 or 7 kids to UVA. |
| If 167 students were admitted to UMDCP and the class is a little under 800, that's around 25% of the graduating class, and apparently, close to 50% applied!! I didn't even think 25% wanted to go to college even. That is amazing! |
This is from MoCo360. Go read the table carefully. 367 is the number of students who applied, 157 is the number admitted. Can’t believe people here can’t even read a table. https://moco360.media/2023/09/13/where-montgomery-county-high-school-graduates-are-going-to-college/ |
Compared to other schools in the MoCo 360 table, it’s underperforming. |
