Anyone following the viral Harvard University *Extension School* controversy?

He has become an overnight sensation.

Anyone that brags about this kind of thing is very lame.

And the schools too. Harvard doesn't need the middling revenue. Don't think the reputational cost is really worth the University of Phoenix type associations.

Just stop. Leave Tyra alone! She deserves her accolades.

Harvard Extension requires 2 course with at least a B. Just stop it. Its program fits in with its world-class institution headed by a world-class misunderstood former prez.

Are you being sarcastic or are you too low information to know what a real, actually selective master’s program requires for admission? A pair of Bs in open admit online courses is essentially demonstrating you have a pulse.

Go read some of his work before you dismiss him. I don't agree with him always, but Rufo is undoubtably a brilliant man.

It’s still a Harvard degree. But make no bones about it — it’s not Harvard College. You can’t even transfer INTO Harvard College from HES.

And yet the lowly HES guy was able to do what the Harvard College folks either were unable to do or were incurious about. Either way, kudos to him and shame on them.

I think the irony here is that he couldn't care any less about prestige. Just wants to make a difference and is doing so. Also, he has become a household name almost overnight.

Government Master’s Degree Program
Online: 11 out of 12 total courses
On-Campus Experience: 2 weekends or one 3-week summer course
Tuition: $3,220 per course
x 12 total courses = $38,640

This is not a degree. This is a receipt.

Don’t shoot the messenger.

Probably teases out his motives. Insecure striver who “only” has a Georgetown degree. An Ivy reject with status envy. So much envy the pathetic buys a Harvard online degree in 2022 while living in million dollar home in Washington state. A wannabe desperate to belong, seething with envy.

Or he’s just not cool with plagiarism? Doesn’t really need to be a deep villain backstory.

+ GOP grifter Vivek, who has a Harvard University (BA) and Yale University (JD). Real Ivy degrees, not a fake one like think tank hatchetman Rufo. Rufo was the son of two lawyers and could only manage to get into GU, then was a nobody for the next twenty years until he hit the jackpot on this right wing apparatus grift.

Just take the L here. All this is doing is making Harvard look worse. The information about the degree on their own website shows how ridiculous this is; “Yes if you graduate from HES, you are a Harvard Alumni!” But then also trying to throw in the fact that you should specify that it’s the extension school and not actually Harvard.

It’s a blatant cash grab by the University to try and sell it’s prestige to people willing to pay while also trying to keep it’s “elite” reputation intact. If they don’t want people to use these programs as a way to bolster their credentials in a “less than honest way”, then maybe the school shouldn’t market what they’re selling in a “less than honest way”.

All it’s doing is making you look like a snob and further exposing how much of a joke “elite” schools have become.

Y'all are so twisted up in your various ignorant bigotries that you can't even figure out who you are supposed to hate today. Putin stooges, the lot of you.

Why was a middle aged right wing think tank grifter seeking such a transparent fake shortcut to an Ivy degree in *2022*? Why did he want to be associated with Harvard or any Ivy? He allegedly lectures at Hillsdale, he lives in Seattle, and right wing grifters like him have been running their mouth that all the Ivies are woke far left pinko breeding grounds. It totally exposes him as a midwit fraud clamoring to belong. It is frankly pathetic that he did this in 2022. And that's BEFORE getting into him purposely lying and obfuscating what kind of degree he had from Harvard (online, extension school) to confer intelligence, status and prestige he is not actually smart enough to earn.

What about students who were forced to attend "real" Harvard Medical School online during the pandemic, https://hms.harvard.edu/news/covid-19-curriculum

Do degrees (from anywhere, not just Harvard) lose their inherent value over time? If so, doesn't it make financial and practical sense for adults 30+ to continue to keep their minds and skills sharp by obtaining more certificates and degrees online as they progress through the lifespan?

Harvard extension school is the exact same thing as University of Phoenix. It's a cash grab by Harvard and no one respects those masters degrees.
