Neri Oxman copied whole paragraphs from WIKIPEDIA in her doctoral thesis (I don't know about your kids, but mine have been taught from an early age to NOT use Wikipedia as a source, much less pass it off as your own work).

And then MIT made her a tenured professor. Seems like a problem.

A couple of examples from the new article:

This is comical at this point, Wikipedia? She and Ackman are obviously grifters and as much of a joke as Gay, if not more. Those in glass houses should not throw stones .

Ackman isn't just throwing stones, he's weaponizing the threat of outing academic plagiarists in service of his broader goals. It's much more sinister than it appears.

Weird how plagiarism is acceptable if you’re on the right team.

That guy is a schoolyard bully going after the smart kids. And now with billionaire status they can't even run to the teachers. Heck he is even "investigating" all the teachers now.

Using Wikipedia as a source is so brilliant. I mean, that alone should warrant a revoking of a PhD nevermind the direct plagiarism. This is so rich.

Cancel Ackman and his grifting home wrecker.

I've already seen some people claim this is a nothing burger - but Ackman himself went out of his way to forgive her on Twitter...

“Part of what makes her human is that she makes mistakes, owns them, and apologizes when appropriate”

Whether or not this is true, she is not the president of an academic institution who cited that condemning threats to a group of people at an organization that she was responsible for depended on the context.

No comparison. Again, what-about-ism is astonishing. That’s all you folks can do. Schoolyard chants and ridiculous “I know you are but what am I” retorts. Rah rah team

Ok so at the very least, Ackman et al. are lying cheating hypocrites and at most Dori or Noro or whatever her name is, needs to have her PhD revoked yesterday. She is a fraud.

Then Gay's poor hearing performance (they all were bad) and he went hunting for her scalp. Billy has no problem punching down but is mute with other billionaires - who have REAL POWER, not just a college student - say horrible antisemitic things. I hope his wife gets dragged. boo, f-ing, hoo.

How in the world can you punch down on the president of Harvard.

Here's a lesson: Don't pursue a role that is going to expose your misdeeds in a way that will humiliate and harm you.

Unless Gay hasn't actually been harmed - seems like she's still doing just fine. And instead of being shunned, now she's a very well paid folk hero for a whole bunch of anti-semites.

I take it you’re not black or a woman and have no f’n clue what psychological harm getting an onslaught of vile, racist and violent messages can do to a black woman. You are gross.

I take it you are not ( insert here, Jewish, Hindu, Chinese, Japanese, Hispanic, African, Islamic) blah blah blah. Typical racist response

Nothing about Ackman was a lie, a cheat, or hypocritical. You’d make a terrible attorney.

He is now married to his home wrecker who directly plagiarized Wikipedia. I can’t think of more irony or hypocrisy.

You are mad that one of your "academic superstars" got caught. And she was supposed to be a talented one. . . Damn, lets dig up a little more.

Not really. I think she’s kind of an a-hole. But what has that got to do with Bill ? He thinks she’s got. He married her. Maybe she gives goos head. Whatever. Is he supposed to be responsible for his wife’s actions as a student/academic? It has nothing to do with his argument.

By your reasoning, the argument that all of Palestine is responsible for the Hamas massacre and torture would stand. Guilt by association. You’re ridiculous.

No, Oxman is not the president of an academic institution BUT, she was once a professor at a very prestigious one--MIT. And her husband is on a mission to take down first the Harvard president and is now going after the president and the entire faculty of MIT. Remember what this whole story started as--a congressional inquiry into accusations of anti-semitism on some campuses. Why has it morphed into an anti-DEI, anti-elite university crusade? Context is very important in this case. You can close your eyes and just focus on one narrow piece of the story--whether the Oxam's plagiarism--and its import--is equivalent or not to that of Gay, but there is a lot more going on here. Use the "critical thinking skills" that your party likes to talk about so much.

I’m fine revoking her PhD provided Gay’s is as well. I assume you want that too?
