If that is what you got from what I said than I was correcr. |
Do you think you should be prosecuted if your pittie attacked someone? Yes or no? |
They shouldn't be allowed at all. If an animal is that dangerous (think lion/tiger), they should be only kept in zoos by professionals. Like the laws about owning tigers and lions .. Seems like common sense to me |
Except you are comparing wild animals with a domestic dog - nothing even remotely "common sense" or logical at all. |
As long as all dogs who attack are, sure |
Of course we all know YOUR precious pit wouldn’t harm a fly, LOL. |
Are we getting somewhere here!? I'm...kind of on board with this, but I think "attack" needs to be a bit refined. Let's be real here, we mean kill or maim. Family annihilators. Eat the owners and be found with their bowels in their own tracts because picking the carcass was a fun game. That's who needs to be prosecuted. I am 100% percent down with prosecution of every single owner of a dog who does this. Are there people who aren't Pit owners who want to get on board? Sure. I'm ready for some Shepherd Rottie stuff too. Those owners tend to...kind of agree? Let's be clear here. if you're defining an "attack" as a 4lb papillon scraping up your nail polish while you own dogs that can annihilate a family in minutes? That's dismissed" /Golden/Lab/GSD/ Malinois/Cane Corso/Dobie owner. |
Yeah, honestly the fact is that even though chihuahuas bite more often.. has there even even been a case of a chihuahua killing/permanently disfiguring someone?.. The thing with pitbulls is they were literally bred to fight, strong unrelenting jaw strength (you don’t let go no matter how hard you’re being thrown around/hit/kicked/etc), and also to not use threat displays thus the “ohh he just suddenly snapped with no warning!” Excuse. I mean it is an excuse but also unsurprising because these dogs do not normally display aggression through displays like that. Other dogs threat display because…. They want to warn off other dogs and predators… dogs bred to fight don’t do that because they were bred to fight, there is not an evolutionary necessity to avoid conflict.. in fact they had better chances at reproducing if they showed they owners how violent and relentless they were. |
We may finally be getting somewhere. |
If a cockapoo kills a human like in this unfortunate situation then by all means throw the book at them. |
All of these cases are heartbreaking but this one especially so - six kids orphaned by vicious dogs. We will be supporting those kids via social security payments and other benefits now, but those financial resources cannot replace a decent father who was involved in the lives of his kids. For him to die such a horrific death shocks the conscience. The owners of such dogs should go to prison for at least a decade. |
I don't think I've ever read on here that humans shouldn't be prosecuted if their dog attacks and kills a person. And I've read every pit thread. |
I see that someone has already started a thread about the recent pit bull caused fatality, but in the interest of keeping this thread up to date, I’m putting it here.

These dogs don't appear to be raised in a loving home though. He was a backyard breeder keeping his dogs outside. Who knows how he treated them. |
Normal, non-pit abused dogs don’t maul. |
