Moonlight
Not a movie but the season of the Wire about the kids In both instances they just do such a good job of displaying how innocence and opportunity are stolen from kids based on where or how they grow up. It just made my heart so profoundly sad. |
Pretty Woman
Kids Less Than Zero Say Anything |
That's the point of it - rampant violence and what to do with youth who commit it. |
^ Keep in mind that Anthony Burgess wrote this book in the 60s, so it was a bit prescient as to where society is today: Incredible acts of violence committed against the innocent for no reason. Just saw a case on the news where a 30-year-old man beat the living hell out of a 71-year old man and left him for dead on the street - all because the old man didn't move fast enough when the traffic light turned green. |
"Touching The Void"
Would you, or wouldn't you, cut the rope? |
Wow. So there are *two* of us out there who know this movie? |
Gallipoli: For some reason, that film, more than any other, evinced the full horror of warfare for me.
Into the Wild: Everything about this film is tragically beautiful until the end, which is just tragic. The soundtrack is amazing. Kudos to Eddie Vedder for fully absorbing the story. I am always fascinated by the analysis of mothers on this film: people are either so incredibly angry at Alex or sad but u destabilize ding. I have not polled dads. |
Wow can’t type tonight. That was meant to be ‘sad but understanding’ |
Lion
I just sat there in silence when the movie was over. I couldn't believe it was a true story. |
That movie was crazy!!! |
Million Dollar Baby |
Remarkably touching. If it wasn't real you'd find it unbelievable. |
The Visitor (2007). |
3. But I remember it being a cute movie not particularly heavy? I saw it as a kid--was it over my head? |
Maybe not "heavy", but Seventh Grade will help you understand kids.
Oh, and Kids is heavy and will help you understand different kids |
