A Clockwork Orange. Tried to watch it in college and could not get through that awful brutal attack scene. It sickened me. To this day I cannot watch that kind of violence in movies.
+1 I hate this movie. I think it is vile and I made it though once and could not get it out of my head. It makes me physically ill. I remember looking up the purpose or meaning and seeing that it’s really about trying to reform someone and how that doesn’t work or some crap. I just thought it was truly depraved.
That's the point of it - rampant violence and what to do with youth who commit it.
^ Keep in mind that Anthony Burgess wrote this book in the 60s, so it was a bit prescient as to where society is today: Incredible acts of violence committed against the innocent for no reason. Just saw a case on the news where a 30-year-old man beat the living hell out of a 71-year old man and left him for dead on the street - all because the old man didn't move fast enough when the traffic light turned green.
