1 commit to Princeton.

It must annoy the STA crowd when they see a school like Landon have some of their marquee younger players commit to an Ivy League school.

Contrary to STA beliefs, there are lots if great athletes who also happen to be exceptional students in the classroom at other schools in the area.

who said they were exceptional students? They can play lacrosse.

Typical STA homer response.

Our son would have done just fine at STA but we opted to send him to a school that offers a better balance between academics and athletics and developing more of a well roundness.

But they will fail out of an Ivy or commit some serious crime so who cares?

Again, typical STA response.

STA has gotten so woke that they seem more interested in indoctrination than in academics or sports.

In that it is spot on? Yes, STA folks are consistently accurate.

Will they be the team to beat this Spring in the IAC / DC area?

Penn - Attack
Brown - FOGO
Navy - Attack
Ohio State - Def
Michigan - Attack
Bucknell - Def (2024)

Don't know if they will be the team to beat with Prep and SJC also looking to be top dog!

Bullis has no depth, their 2024 class is very weak and it showed last year.

Gonzaga will finally be back on top in the WCAC this Spring - they are loaded. SJC will have depth issues.

IAC will come down between GP and Landon with Bullis acting as the dark-horse.

New to private HS lacrosse and live in Fairfax Co.

In the recent past, how are the other 4 teams in IAC besides the Montgomery Co. schools Prep, Landon, and Bullis? Is it typically a big dropoff in talent?

What about the WCAC Schools? Gonzaga and St. Johns typically dominate? What about Virginia schools like PVI and O'Connell?

MAC schools like Flint Hill and Potomac School are typically weak lacrosse schools?

There are only three other schools in the IAC. Episcopal and St. Stephen's in VA and St. Alban's in DC. In general, they are a step below the MD schools in terms of lacrosse success. St. Stephen's made the IAC tournament final a few times in the last 15 years, most recently in 2019, but I don't think they ever won it. Don't remember about Episcopal and St. Alban's.

Landon and Prep are historically the best teams in the IAC. Bullis has been good more recently. Episcopal and SSSA have both had good teams in the past and made runs for the Championship, but not often. STA is not good and have never really been good. They may have anywhere from 1-5 good players, but never enough to really make a run for the Championship. They are consistently in the bottom half of IAC, even when they had their best team in decades this past year. The only IAC championship STA has won is a co-championship in 2007.

I mean, if you're going to go all the way back to '07, then you can't really say STA has never been good. It's just been a long long time...

+1. My nephew graduated 2 years ago. Some of the judgements by the admin he relayed to me had far more to do with securing the reputation of STA vs helping the boys learn a lesson or achieve success. His eyes have been opened at university, thankfully.

“At university?” Are you referring to STA in the UK? No one speaks like this here. Plus, your sibling thinks you suck.

Still, 8 of their kids were admitted today to Harvard, Princeton and Yale.

Ivies don't admit in November, but nice try. Not to mention, last year's matriculation was eye opening for a lot of STA parents. Ivy admits were athletes, legacy, and big donors. Lots of good/top students did not get into their desired schools. STA matriculations are not what they used to be.

In the STA (we think we are the best) bubble, one IAC lax co-championship in 2007 might be considered good, but in the real world one IAC lax co-championship in school history and almost 17 years ago is not good at all.

You could say this about almost any male or coed private school in the area. Universities are going full virtue signal in admitting public schools and dei first unless they need athletes to fill the country club and limited scholarship sports. The supreme court decision means nothing.
