It sure looks as though we won't see much damage inside the beltway, but things could change.

Be safe! May it be over soon!

How big is the hail you're getting?

Same! I’m struggling figure out dinner fir the family because I’m stressed about this. We kept our power last weekend but a power surge shorted our HVAC and we didn’t have AC for four days. Got it fixed and now this. I feel like our house is particularly exposed to high winds.

Would love for this to be a bust!!!!

I didn't even think about dinner, but that's the exact window of the storm! I guess snacks for dinner in the basement isn't the worst thing in the world, or we aim for a later dinner.

Good luck to you and thank you for the commiseration!

It’s a cereal for dinner night.

Tiny and didn’t last long. There is a LOT of lightning but really not much wind or rain.

OK radar is completely out to lunch. It's raining on my property and radar is currently saying I should be all dry (and stay all dry until midnight).

Weird.

Leesburg. It’s mostly moved out. Still thundering/lightning and pittering rain but no destructive winds, giant hail, etc. Dammit, now I’m gonna have to cook dinner!

Does seem like the worst will be further north although I did just get a severe t-storm warning notification here in southern Fairfax near 95.

Wow, it’s a good evening to be in crystal clear Ocean City,Maryland, rather than Montgomery County. Accidental great timing for our beach getaway.

I'm so nervous. Just steady rain in Alexandria, but I know this is the pop up, and not the 'main event.'

No power in Parts of Ashburn

Don't be. If you get rain before the squall line, it will considerably dampen the second event's impact. Rain now is a good thing to calm down your neck of the woods.
