Is something wrong with Mitch McConnell?

The current GOP candidate for KY Gov is married to McConnell’s niece. He’s trying to hold on for dear life until his relative is elected.

The Kentucky legislature changed how this was done once Beshear was elected, of course. If McConnell resigns or dies in office, Beshear would have to pick from three candidates recommended by the Kentucky GOP. He can’t pick a Democrat to replace him.

But he could hold the seat open. Precedent and all.

What is up with that?

This could turn out to be choice that backfires completely if he does not get the care he needs.

I just watched the video. Seizure, stroke, whatever’s going on with him, I truly hope that someone cares about him enough to get him to a hospital. Then I hope he immediately goes all in for universal healthcare, and promptly retires.

Medicare IS universal health care. For seniors.

I’m not sure what point you think you’re making here? Even for seniors Medicare isn’t universal. If you or a spouse (meeting certain criteria) don’t have adequate work credits, you don’t qualify. Medicare and Social Security were deliberately crafted to exclude the types of jobs then typically held by POC. And healthcare for seniors is great — for those who make it that far.

Medicare A is universal. You pay for Medicare B. Medicare A covers inpatient hospitalization. Does not cover ER.

I can’t think of a better way for him to honor McConnell’s legacy.

Medicare is not universal. You need to have worked a certain number of quarters to qualify.

He can pull a "McConnell" and wait until the next election.

Once the boomers pass on, at least the younger generation will finally elect young individuals...god willing

65 is way too young! I’m not a fan of these old geezers holding on but until recently, younger people didn’t go into
Govt and this there was a lean bench. That’s changing and the Dem party will look a whole lot younger in 6 years (as much as I hate to admit the GOP is much better on this).

If you don’t like old people being in power, run for office yourself.

how in the world is 65 too young?

The avg CEO is in their 50s.

Max SS is age 70, the avg person lives to around 80-82

The leaders of the free world should be in peak physical and mental shape -- which for 99% of people is NOT in their late 60s.

I would run for office in my early 50s once i retire from my business.

Peak physical shape? No. You very rarely have both wisdom and strength at the same time.

If this bothers you, contact the little control freak dweebs in the GOP who have said, point blank, they will not allow a Democrat to replace Feinstein on any of her committees.

I really hope he does, but democrats are annoyingly soft when it comes to stuff like this.
