This is what I mean. You seem to be unaware that they are currently investigating leads. That means the leads were genuinely actionable. I don't think democrats understand this. They seem to think that the FBI has spent years reluctantly going through the motions of pretending to investigate the Bidens in order to appease Republicans.

I think it's fine if the FBI alerts social media companies of known foreign influence campaigns. It's not fine for the FBI to learn about people's lives and verify information about their lives to social media companies. If you really think it through, the FBI handled that interaction completely appropriately. "Yes, the laptop is real" -- eg it's not a foreign influence campaign-- "and no further comment." That's perfect IMO.

They knew when the story was published that the laptop belonged to Hunter Biden and the images released were real.

The laptop is real. Some of the alleged content is real. But does it show any actual crimes? That's the question. People like the NY Post who only have access to the known tampered images are claiming there are crimes. But FBI hasn't been inclined to agree. Note that the FBI got involved well before Biden's presidency. Trump was in charge when they decided to take a pass on pursuing Hunter for any potential crimes. Meanwhile Lev Parnas and other people in Trump's circle who worked with Giuliani are coming out and admitting that a lot of the things being claimed, like the second-hand account of "Biden received a multi-million-dollar bribe" was a fake story that Parnas and Giuliani intentionally swirled to try and smear the Bidens during the election.

That just didn't happen.

In fact, Barr passed along the FD-1023 from the informant to Delaware for further investigation.

The IRS investigators never saw the FD-1023. They never saw the laptop.
Biden's DOJ tried mightily to bury evidence in an effort to protect Hunter Biden and his father.

They didn't expect whistleblowers to go to authorities with evidence.

And, BTW - that FD-1023 - a very credible source went to authorities with that information.
