Which U.S. Presidents had genuinely good, solid marriages?

Then why even mention them in the thread about good solid marriage? There are hundreds of other threads bashing Trump family.

Yes!
Ashley is a blessing and a light on the horizon.

No one gives Joe and his children grace for the trauma they endured when they lost his/their wife/mother son/brother.
Everyone reacts to trauma in a different way.
May you never experience this personally.

My family did and reacted way differently than Biden. Kids became first, last and only priority. Later on, my dad was still able to have a massively important career in his field notwithstanding. When I first met Hunter 20 or so years ago I just felt sorry for him. Never met his older brother but I don’t think their father’s path was the best one for them.

Their father never cared about them, hence the result. The outcome would be totally different if the father was involved. They have access to the best therapists and psychologists in the country. My spouse lost their mom when all kids were young and all grew up to be successful adults without any drug addiction.

Knew a family whose mother died young. Father became alcoholic and two of the kids did too, dying before they turned 40.

Be grateful your spouse is clearly superior to so many other human beings.

Joe had just been elected Senator. His family stepped in to help and he took the train back and forth.

He loved those boys. And when Jill came along, she loved those boys too.

You do realize that wonderful people can raise kids who have addiction problems? My ILs are a good example of this. Both their sons have addiction problems - my husband has been sober for 9.5 years (alcohol), my BIL for 5 or so (drugs). My MIL was a kindergarten teacher most of her adult life. They were involved in their church. They did everything for their kids and I dare you to blame them for their son’s issues. They were both just born with a predisposition to addiction. It had nothing to do with whether they loved them or spent enough time with them.

In what universe Bill and Hillary's marriage defined as a good marriage?

Tammy Wynette's "Stand by Your Man" universe.

Lol. Nope. Obama was always faithful.

+1 I admire them very much.

Do you admire the image of Obamas created by media or their actual life? Because those are two different things. I am not saying that what they do in their personal life is morally wrong, but it is definitely not your exemplary Christian family.

PP here. I'm a Christian and fairly conservative older DCUM female. I think they have a good, solid marriage. I didn't mention Christian.

For all their problems the Clintons are still together.

It's not a good, solid marriage when one partner is a serial cheater. Even though she didn't want to stay home and bake cookies, HRC has been incredibly determined to "stand by her man."

They are still together and considering all they went through, it's a pretty damn solid.

Not really.

Get bent. That's a terrible thing to say and unjustified.

He was a faithful selfish a$$ for a decade of the marriage.

I am not sure that is a good marriage. He married a good woman. That dies not make it a good marriage. If he did not become president, their marriage would have been a different story

He will probably trade her in for number 4 soon enough.

Hopefully it will be one of those women that want to marry a convict.

The are upholding the "till death do us part" portion. Also, when push comes to shove, they relentlessly back each other.

They also have a mutual respect for each other's intelligence and skills. They've always been partners of mind.

That's fine, but it's not a good, solid marriage and relationship when one person is a serial adulterer. Just means one person is putting up with it.

You have no idea how those kids were raised.
