Capitol tryouts

No, that isn't true

That's how it used to be. You had to go to a second tryout to know which team you would be placed on. But doesn't sound like they do that anymore. Left a lot of people unhappy because if they were on Orange, they didn't have the alternative of trying out elsewhere.

Not sure if they still are or not but STARS was that way too

Would you do Orange over Stars or Pride A teams?

I absolutely would. Orange still had seven or eight go to solid D1 programs and the remainder of the girls who wanted to play in college commit to strong D3 schools

Agree that Capital Orange is second best option locally. Recruiting infrastructure in place and if your player excels, she can move up next year potentially.

Best I can tell for the 24 Class Capital Orange had 8 commits (7 D1 and 1 D3) while the 24 Pride team had 11 commits (9 D1 and 2 D3). I don't think its so clear that Capital O is clearly the second best option.

One thing is certain if players opt for Orange, they will not be marketed to the same colleges as the Blue players. They can’t be because the club needs to place their Blue players first to validate their team selections.

Occasionally, an Orange player will land at a top school, but this will be more the exception than the rule.

Pride is a complete guessing game when it comes to recruiting. Roll the dice at your own risk. The best class they have had, and probably will ever have, was their 2023s. The club had the talent handed to them and didn’t help at all with recruiting. Some players ended up at top D1 programs but they did this on their own.

Capital Blue is by far the ideal situation. Outside if this go with the team that will play at the highest level in tournaments.

Two Pride 2023s are headed to West Point (#15) and one is headed to Richmond (#21).
Take an A team at Pride, Stars, MCE, VaMetro over Cap Orange. A team at said clubs get slotted in higher LOP at tournaments, coaches are there. Orange families end if up doing a lot on their own b/c they do not want to wait till Blue is done. If your DD did not male Blue they will survive.

Except not Pride anymore. Pride Black played Capital Orange for 25s and 26s in the 22-23 season. So they are the exact same LOP.

Do they let you know if you didn’t make it or do you just assume that if you didn’t get an email?

Why do they only want white shirts and black shorts with no school logos worn when they ask those question when you register?

So that nobody has a bias while being evaluated.

I get that but they have the info from the registration.

The bias was already baked in pre-tryout. This is a feel good request more than anything.

Typically offers go out first (how quickly depends on the level of “want”). Wait list next. Both within 24 hours. Then the “well, maybes.”

Then the “thank you buts.”

This is typical and not just CLC but past experience.

If you haven’t heard in 72 hours, move on. It’s most likely not good. ☹️

This is only for the freshman team. The 2026s have been told they will not know until after the weekend tournament. I wonder when M&D and Skywalkers will post or make contact for those who tried out. They have active teams unlike CLC who only has a new freshmen team.

How did the BLC and Capital relationship work out for the girls?

Pretty well, I have heard that half the team is made up of BLC players, and some of their girls had already accepted offers to Baltimore teams.
