Soup > smoothies

Soup & smoothies > salads

But smoothies > soup on most days. A good bowl of chicken noodle or tomato soup on a mix up day it's great though.

Plus I stay full on smoothies way longer.

That's because you are underestimating the importance of protein Even in your salad.

From a deliciousness perspective: I absolutely agree!

Who cares about protein? I'm taking about weight loss. From a diet perspective, I've done the smoothie thing for a while now and it's kinda like the weight watchers diet, one for breakfast, one for lunch and a responsible dinner and the pounds come off. And it's easy to stick to cause I like it as opposed to salads which I hate.

I get protein in my dinners.

I believe almost all Americans are eating too many carbs.

I also believe sugar is poisonous to your body above a certain level, which many Americans consume in a day.

When you say carbs, what are you referring to? People are not becoming obese eating Whole Foods and breads once in a while. They are getting fat on sugar as you mention, and mountains of garbage like chips and things in the middle of the grocery store. Not around the edges.

Because protein fills you up. That’s what keep you from getting hungry which is what leads to weightloss. And you need it at every meal not just at the end of the day.

That's already happened, where have you been

90% of posters in this forum still think CICO is gospel and people are overweight solely because they have no willpower.

Yep.

Yeah, I think sugar is probably toxic/problematic in ways we don't even know yet. And, possibly, some forms of it (high fructose corn syrup?) are worse than others.

Sorry, not with you on that one. I'm on the protein once a day at most ritual. I eat a lot of veggies. And if I get hungry, I eat more.

I'm sure no one will agree with me, though.

But are there certain things you eat and not eat.

Like I’d eat egg McMuffin but not a Big Mac and fries?

I switch it up. Today was a chicken sandwich and fries. Sometimes I do a Cava or Chipotle bowl, which I tell myself is a bit healthier. But other times it's straight junk.

Okay so you're an average weight, big deal. What you are doing though is rotting your insides with ultra-processed, chemically laden foods and seed oils. Health and weight are not synonymous.

Yeah, you are probably right. I acknowledged no one would agree with me. I don't have any health issues yet, though.

The rest of my meals besides fast food are pretty healthy, mostly vegetables.

That may well be true. But if you did a blood panel before you stopped and six months after, I will be the numbers would be better. Not that bad isn’t a great standard. And fast food tastes like garbage anyways.

Well, I have to say I actually like the taste, otherwise I would not eat it!

I am sure my numbers could be better if I stopped, but it's that common challenge of a busy job, busy schedules, eating on the go with kids. I could eat better more consistently if I did things like meal prep on the weekends but I'm lazy, I guess.

Does Cava count as fast food? I would eat that everyday if I could. Way different than 5 guys which I like but would not eat everyday.
