I'm also in Ashburn and beginning to think I need to upgrade my windows because I can smell it inside my house.

Anyone recommend someone who does apocalypse style windows?

We could smell the smoke inside as well. We have 6 different hepas and turned them all on.

Where are you that it was only 160 this morning?

It wasn't, unless they were out at 5am. They got misled by an out of date report.

5 am is prime time for morning runners.

Yup. Because we have to go to work and not sit at home all day, so I ran at 5:30 and it said 160. So I went to try, and kept going because I felt fine.

Problem was the smoke arrived quite suddenly at around that time, so unless you ran just a few minutes, it was at more than 200 by the time you ended.

I checked, and it increased to like 182. Yes, not great, but also fine for many people without health/lung issues.

Not really.

Why do you care that this other person ran when the air quality was bad? They seem to have been fine with it. Their workout won't harm your lungs. I personally wouldn't have gone running this morning, but I can't imagine arguing with someone back and forth about whether they should or shouldn't have done it or whether they did or didn't understand what the AQI was at the time.

Maybe they can report back in 5 years and let us know what ailments they are suffereing from and whether this run was worth it.

Anyone else have ill effects after being outside the last two days? i had to go downtown on Wednesday and spent a minimal amount of time outside yesterday. Wore my mask somewhat both times I was out. But woke up this morning with a painfully swollen eye. Wondering if it might have been caused by smoke irritation.

Yes. Itchy red eyes and sore throat. Not out long. No history of respiratory issues. History of seasonal allergies

Yes. Wasn’t paying attention to the news and had a sore throatTuesday night. Wore an N95 mask most of Wednesday and Thursday and stayed indoors as much as possible- no sore throat. Irritated eyes though.
