Yeah, the color scheme is very annoying to me. |
Ah, your beagle is smart. My dear canine companion has fluff for brains, as well as fluff everywhere else
|
Cool, but this is unsafe for people with certain conditions, elderly, children. |
Where are you that it was only 160 this morning? |
I have a lung condition and probably would have felt ok going for a walk at 160. But I'm not sure where in this area it was 160 this am. Everything I've seen is 200 and above. |
| Weather channel app keeps saying 160 although .gov websites are all maroon/purple/red/redish |
Ignore the green. It's for ozone, which is not dangerous right now. Focus on the red and purple (and occasionally maroon) numbers. Early this morning at like 4-6am they were at Code Orange (below 200). Then they jumped rapidly to Code Red, then Code Purple, and some are now Code Maroon, which is the highest Code alert, for AQI of 301 and above. Refresh the page regularly throughout the day. |
Mine says 230 right now. McLean/Arlington. |
It's a weather event and the wind moves the dust pockets. Also, different monitors can pick up different micro pockets and can give different readings near you. |
It should be black after purple. To indicate the lung damage.
|
Some apps are lagging because they're not built for this rapid change of circumstances, and some news/radio aren't getting the message out rapidly enough. The idiots at Classical Radio kept saying Code Red this morning, where we were at Code Purple. Capital Weather Gang (WaPo meteorologists) is up to date. |
Exactly. Maroon? Come on people. |
CWG is always on it. I don't listen to anyone else. |
Arlington says 166 right now on app. The link at the top of this thread is 260. |

It's officially Maroon, the new black, in Arlingon. |
