Leftover Covid policies that make no sense.

+1 yes, this is the only one in this whole list that also bothers me.

I don't love looking at menus on my phone but I also don't love the waste of using paper/plastic menus either so I like that restaurants are not wasting as much this way.

The only things I need from housekeeping services are: more coffee for the coffee maker, more toilet paper and fresh towels if we're staying longer than a couple days, and to take the trash/recycling out. It's easy enough to just ask at the front desk for the first few items and I actually don't even mind taking my own trash/recycling out if I know where it goes. Otherwise, I just leave it in the hall and the housekeeping staff does take it.

It's really fun when your reception sucks

Only for non-citizens coming to the US

Except for invaders coming through Mexico.
Why is that?

None of your examples are Covid policies OP. They are money saving policies.

And what do they matter, right? My dad doesn’t want the vaccine. It doesn’t make him dangerous to others, yet I can’t see him. Others are smarter than me, they buy certificates which aren’t properly checked anyway. It’s just theater.

Traveling to other countries isn’t a right. You can see him, he just needs to get the vaccine. This is something you can both fix.

This is a useless policy, that was the point.
Nothing changes for you if comes, unvaxxed.
Especially as thousands are already coming across the southern border with no vaccine.

Exactly, which is why they are annoying.

100%. We are literally the only country in the world that makes travelers remove their shoes. Even worse is that there has been literally zero Congressional effort to reform TSA's ridiculous insistence on removing shoes.

Equally as crazy is that you can be in the next line over from another security line at the same airport and they might not have to remove their shoes while you'll have to. Insanity!

Yes. The ones at our local mall are still covered in plexiglass. We can view the fountain, just not drink from it.

YES! The last thing I want to do at a restaurant with friends or family is have everyone stare at their phones. But thank god we’re not getting Covid from touching a menu….

Yup. This bothers me so much. Feels so rude to stare at my phone. I want to talk to the people I’m with and not have everyone’s phones out. I now ask for paper menus when I walk in.

How is staring at your phone to look at a menu rude? Is staring at a paper menu rude? I don’t get it.

+1 why is reading text on a paper different than text on a phone?

This is so dumb.

Sometimes I leave my phone in the car because I want to be immersed in my surroundings.

I don’t think having a smartphone should be a requirement for dining out.

You’re paying for a service.

Yes. And what if your phone is out of batteries? You just don't get to read the menu? A cell phone shouldn't be a requirement for any service if you are there in person.

Working from home was a burgeoning trend that COVID just sped up. It was happening sooner or later.

What this thread is about are policies introduced specifically because of COVID that have no reason to still exist. Such as banning unvaccinated people from coming to the US because we know the vaccines don't stop transmission or prevent you from getting COVID and natural immunity does exist, and the rest of the western world has long removed such restrictions because they simply have have no logic any more.

The water fountain thing is so annoying. venues make so much more from selling bottled water this way I guess.

Water fountains are gross. Bring your own water.

This will be the next government push. “No one wants these jobs so we must legalize all illegal aliens so they can help”.

Manufactured crisis.
