9 Mcps Antisemitic incidents since Friday

Maybe I missed a previous string on this but MoCo had previous incidents of antiblack vandalism and messaging was it was punished with (appropriately) suspensions. Why would these events not be punished equally? That would be real justice. I simply didn't understand 'restorative justice... sounds like injustice to me. Not a good thing to be teaching.

Would you say it was just kids messing around if they were targeting black people or Hispanics or really any other minority?

Describing it this way really minimizes what is going on. These kids know what they’re doing.

Wondering if this attention has been somewhat counterproductive, possibly leading to increased incidents? Similar to why media doesn’t report the names of shooters, to discourage copycats from seeking fame in this way.

So should we ignore all hate crimes? Or just the ones against Jews.

Not drawing more attention than necessary is not the same as ignoring all hate crimes.

I've received 3 emails from MCPS on this topic in the last two weeks and there have been at least a dozen local news stories. Tell me again about "no one cares."

I think if a student wore a MAGA hat to class the punishment would be more severe (I'm being facetious here, I don't think there is any punishment for political satire in class but I could be wrong). My point is I wish there was consistency, its appropriate to stop Trumpism hate crimes but the goal is to stop all hate. No one should get a pass else the haters will just migrate to the side that condones their hate.
