Or well Dems switch to McCarthy with the promise of good committees and favorable rules.

Zero chance. I could see them banding with moderate republicans to choose a moderate democrat, but they aren't bailing out the republicans for the hell of it

Why are CNN & MSNBC hedging their chyrons with “McCarthy appears to have list first speakership vote” ?

Also, how is it possible that the R’s couldn’t come together and find a speaker who doesn’t kowtow to the former guy?

10 for Biggs, 9 for other candidates. 212 Dems voted for Jeffries.

IF they end up voting for McCarthy, I think the American People deserve full transparency on what deal was made in order to get their votes.

It wouldn't be for the hell of it. It would be to get rules concessions that preserve some of their power.

I think it’s because the vote hasn’t been recorded yet.

And no Republicans come together around someone who doesn’t kowtow to the former guy. He’s their whole world.

The gaslighting from the GOP about the state of our country is astounding.

They’ve changed now that the clerk announced the vote tallies. And now we begin again.

Hilarious hearing Jim Jordan talking about passing legislation, something he has never done.
