Or well Dems switch to McCarthy with the promise of good committees and favorable rules. |
The burn it all down/look at me caucus |
Or just vote present |
Nope. |
Never F**king trust a single republican again. They are literal traitors to this country. |
Zero chance. I could see them banding with moderate republicans to choose a moderate democrat, but they aren't bailing out the republicans for the hell of it |
|
Why are CNN & MSNBC hedging their chyrons with “McCarthy appears to have list first speakership vote” ?
Also, how is it possible that the R’s couldn’t come together and find a speaker who doesn’t kowtow to the former guy? |
10 for Biggs, 9 for other candidates. 212 Dems voted for Jeffries. IF they end up voting for McCarthy, I think the American People deserve full transparency on what deal was made in order to get their votes. |
| This is just a preview of dysfunction to come in the House |
| McCarthy really thinks he can pull it out on a 2nd vote? |
It wouldn't be for the hell of it. It would be to get rules concessions that preserve some of their power. |
I think it’s because the vote hasn’t been recorded yet. And no Republicans come together around someone who doesn’t kowtow to the former guy. He’s their whole world. |
| The gaslighting from the GOP about the state of our country is astounding. |
They’ve changed now that the clerk announced the vote tallies. And now we begin again. Hilarious hearing Jim Jordan talking about passing legislation, something he has never done. |
