The problem is that she has so much privilege that she can refuse to get help. Same with Kanye. The rest of us would get fired or cut off from our friends and family but since she is so wealthy and famous there will always be someone there to say yes. |
But she’s not just dancing around half naked. She’s unhinged, it’s very apparent. I hope someone can help her. I feel so bad for her husband. He’s between a rock and a hard place. |
Why? Plenty of mentally ill people are out there acting weird and living essentially functional lives. She is mentally ill, clearly. What was always wrong is that she was imprisoned and mentally ill. She earned all that money, she has a right to have a credit card and go shopping and post videos of herself dancing weirdly in her living room if she wants to. She doesn't appear to be a physical threat to herself or others, so we should leave her alone. I think a lot of people wanted her to emerge and be like 2001 Britney again. That was always a silly desire clearly there was a real mental health issue. But just because she emerged not 2001 Britney but somewhat damaged and combative doesn't mean getting her out of that situation was the wrong choice. |
I completely agree with everything you said, but I still think she is in danger and in need of help. |
| I just read an article this morning that she was acting erratically, not taking her medications, and abusing substances and her team was going to do an intervention but canceled it for some reason. This was from TMZ so consider the source. |
Supposedly it was cancelled because the plan was leaked. |
I would nor want to have you as a family member if my loved ones or I were mentally ill, acting as she has done, and in need of care. |
I don’t know how many people that have the level of mental illness Britney seems to be dealing with are actually living independent functional lives. If she’s no longer taking her medication and abusing other substances, I’m sure there is a concern that she is a threat to herself or others. The conservatorship she was under certainly seemed draconian and should not have been overseen by her father, whom Britney did not trust and had his own interests, but let’s not pretend that Britney wasn’t in need of assistance. |
Bipolar disorder, however, is most certainly biological. They often have a reaction to SSRIs. It's not merely I'm sad about a divorce or hypervigilant and irritable after trauma. |
| I stopped following her on IG awhile ago because I just couldn't take the weird dancing videos. They're depressing. I wish she could get some help like LL did and turn her life around. She could still do it. Get on the right cocktail of drugs to stabilize her mental health and get her back to making music. How awesome would it have been if she had done all those things and could join Rihanna this weekend for an S&M duet? She just doesn't seem to have a good support team surrounding her and no one is in her corner to help. I feel bad for her. She's wasting away. |
It took Lohan YEARS to get back on track and she still seems kind of weird. Britney is on a journey, its not going to happen overnight. |
Well you're right, most people with issues to this level aren't able to work in a way that provides them this level of income. But you are wrong in that you think people like this aren't out there, doing the best they can. We just hide them in our society or you look the other way when someone walks past you yelling on the sidewalk. There is deep shame in these things, people learn to hide to try to seem normal. But take a ride on the subway and you will see how many people are out there living with and struggling with these kinds of issues. And it isn't right to say that those people should have to hide in their homes and be medicated into stupors and have their rights taken away because being faced with abnormality makes people uncomfortable. Britney clearly had an acute crisis in the early aughts. But again, no one is putting Johnny Depp under a conservatorship, or Shia Laboeff, or Kanye, or Charlie Sheen back in the day. I don't buy that she was better off all these years. Perhaps instead she would have been having weird episodes here and there and acting weird on social media, but the courts are protecting her children, and the truth is that we believe in freedom in this country and that includes the freedom to make bad decisions. Putting someone in a gilded cage for their own good is still putting them in a cage and that just isn't right. |
| Sadly, I don’t think things will end well for Britney. I suspect she’ll die young due so substance abuse and mental health issues. |
That’s the problem. People are subject to control based on who their family is. I definitely wouldn’t want you caring for me because you’re under the illusion you can just “see” mental illness and “know what’s best.” You can’t, and you don’t. |
I had the exact same thought recently when I saw one of her IG posts. I’m afraid it isn’t going to end well. There was a bit of Anna Nicole Smith going on. |
