https://www.instagram.com/p/Clef9j-PAJP/?igshid=NTdlMDg3MTY=
How do these posts prove she is mentally ill? It’s not unusual for celebrities to post sexy and revealing pics of themselves. Madonna creates an NFT of herself giving birth to a tree for God’s sake!
I don’t know anyone who would assert that Madonna is well either fwiw. She’s just not quite as messy as Britney.
Yeah, Madonna isn’t the mental health poster child. I just hope Britney is happy. I don’t care what she posts on her IG. Last time I looked it was just selfies of her dancing around half-naked.
But she’s not just dancing around half naked. She’s unhinged, it’s very apparent. I hope someone can help her. I feel so bad for her husband. He’s between a rock and a hard place.
Why? Plenty of mentally ill people are out there acting weird and living essentially functional lives. She is mentally ill, clearly. What was always wrong is that she was imprisoned and mentally ill. She earned all that money, she has a right to have a credit card and go shopping and post videos of herself dancing weirdly in her living room if she wants to. She doesn't appear to be a physical threat to herself or others, so we should leave her alone. I think a lot of people wanted her to emerge and be like 2001 Britney again. That was always a silly desire clearly there was a real mental health issue. But just because she emerged not 2001 Britney but somewhat damaged and combative doesn't mean getting her out of that situation was the wrong choice.
I don’t know how many people that have the level of mental illness Britney seems to be dealing with are actually living independent functional lives. If she’s no longer taking her medication and abusing other substances, I’m sure there is a concern that she is a threat to herself or others. The conservatorship she was under certainly seemed draconian and should not have been overseen by her father, whom Britney did not trust and had his own interests, but let’s not pretend that Britney wasn’t in need of assistance.
Well you're right, most people with issues to this level aren't able to work in a way that provides them this level of income. But you are wrong in that you think people like this aren't out there, doing the best they can. We just hide them in our society or you look the other way when someone walks past you yelling on the sidewalk. There is deep shame in these things, people learn to hide to try to seem normal. But take a ride on the subway and you will see how many people are out there living with and struggling with these kinds of issues. And it isn't right to say that those people should have to hide in their homes and be medicated into stupors and have their rights taken away because being faced with abnormality makes people uncomfortable. Britney clearly had an acute crisis in the early aughts. But again, no one is putting Johnny Depp under a conservatorship, or Shia Laboeff, or Kanye, or Charlie Sheen back in the day. I don't buy that she was better off all these years. Perhaps instead she would have been having weird episodes here and there and acting weird on social media, but the courts are protecting her children, and the truth is that we believe in freedom in this country and that includes the freedom to make bad decisions. Putting someone in a gilded cage for their own good is still putting them in a cage and that just isn't right.
