A lawsuit, police report? For a 6th grader?

I would file a police report if a 6th grader attacked me and broke my nose. Why wouldn't you?

I mean, I don't know if it were the case here, but if the student had a significant disability and genuinely could not control the behavior, I would absolutely not.

If there is a 6th grader who genuinely cannot control their behavior, they belong in an institution... not a public school, and teachers should absolutely file police reports to document the need.

You do realize that some of the 6th graders are 15, 16 years old and larger than adults?

Um, no. A 6th grader would be 11 or 12 years old. Maybe 13 if they were held back.

There are freshman in high school that are well over 18. You are aware, right?

It’s pretty rare and they age out on their 22nd birthday. But nice right wing talking point.

And there it is. Question anything in ACPS and you're a republican. Are you also going to to call them racist next?

And as if Republicans are not allowed to have accurate opinions.

The real question is why is the mod of this site- who has no connection to ACPS- running interreference for them?

Not in Alexandria. Apparently, there is a SB member in B who won't return calls or emails if she even just suspects a constituent is a Republican. My guess is that she defines it by anyone who questions ACPS and the SB so she's including some of her fellow party members in that.

While you are entitled to your opinion, that is not the law.

Like on every single ACPS thread. Every one.

Yep. I've sent it to Nathan Baca-one of the local journalists who covers education in the region. Just in case there is ever a thread that clearly identifies a threat which the mod then deletes, there will be a record of it.

Right!! I even got a block for highlighting the dereliction of ACPS too many times. I wonder what the connection is?

I'd love to know. When that poor kid was stabbed to death the mod deleted about 10 separate posts. It was like he was trying to conceal violence at the school.

What the heck? Is this for real? What SB member is this? Does this SB member work for the teachers' union?

There aren't institutions that take children who can't control themselves.

The thing that doesn't make sense to me is some of what is allowed to remain (e.g., calling someone's kids fat) in light of what is deleted.

Again- it's confounding. There is a PTAC member who gets just roasted on here, monthly, and not a peep or deletion from the modding team.

You want to post about the constant smell of weed and vape in S Arlington middle schools? Go right ahead; it'll even stay on the front page for a month.

But, if you daresay your kids and your neighbor's kids smell weed at Alexandria City HS and the post is shot on site and you get IP banned.

Maybe he's friends with a SB member? The clown of a mayor? I don't know.

I know who you are referring to. I think posts disagreeing with her policies, approaches in her position, or statements are fair game (and have made some myself - I don't dislike her as a person, but I have fairly strong disagreement with some of her approaches). However, disparaging her appearance or the appearance of her kids is out of line.

There exactly two posts nearly a year ago "disparaging her appearance or the appearance of her kids". I agree that type of post is out of line. Just like it's totally out of line for a person who was banned from her children's school for celebrating violence against children to be on the PTAC board and President of that board.
