I would want to know if the school is taking steps to be sure that the student’s peers’ safety is being protected (ie is the school making the student who hurt the teacher is not damaged to peers - again no need for names in having that conversation). |
The answer would be yes. It’s also in the student code of conduct, what that disciplinary action would be. So moving on…. |
You have a lot more faith in ACPS than I do since my child was bullied for months with no action taken….. |
Source that there are 6th graders who are 15 or 16? I’ve taught a few 15 year old 8th graders. |
It is not appropriate to post the child’s name. I assume the child needs support too. What’s annoying is the poster upthread who claims ACPS should not answer questions about whether sufficient steps have been taken to be sure this students’ peers remain safe. |
What low expectations - this poster surely is not real. It is perfectly reasonable to expect a governmental entity to explain to the community it serves what steps are being taken to remedy the situation so that it will not happen again. Whether the entity stonewalls is another matter but it is not a good government practice by any measure. |
Pssst; this isn't the school community. Nobody on this anonymous forum deserves answers. Talk to the school if you feel like you're owed information |
Well, since neither my 6th grader, my 8th grader, nor my neighbor's kid in 7th heard anything about this purported event, seems likely that it never occurred, so I don't think a Governmental entity needs to explain an event that didn't happen, |
Oh no. He's gone. You didn't hear? |
Or it did happen and you don’t know about it hence the need to ask the question. |
Right. I guess my colleague didn't just tell me he's taking his daughter on a horse back riding trip in the Shenandoah this weekend. I mean, you didn't hear about it so it must not have happened, right? Are there really people this dense on here or are they simply a shill for the mayor's agenda at every opportunity? |
No. It didn't. A counselor was pushed and was sore the following day but no one was bloodied on the floor. Imagine how ridiculous that sounds. |
+1. This. No more excuses for violent behavior at school. |
“The student code of conduct?” HAHAHAHA. And no, honey, we are not “moving on.” |
Not ridiculous at all. The real question is, why are you so desperate to sweep this attack under the rug? |
