I’m not marketing myself as a “singer/songwriter.” However, I believe ANYONE can write better lyrics than her song, Me! Now move along as you’ve posted this now twice and are clearly triggered. |
If anyone can do it, then why don’t you? Talk is cheap. |
I can’t even read this because you are awful and Taylor is a queen and that’s it. Discussion over. |
OP, I knew you were trouble |
…when you walked in… |
I suspect you are a troll. 😈 Yet I will answer anyway. I’m talking about her dad and not most stockbrokers. He was a stockbroker for Merrill Lynch. She lived in PA and he paid for them to move to Nashville. He paid $300,000 for a stake in Big Machine records and they lived in Franklin, Tennessee. That’s where Nicole Kidman lived. Taylor did not grow up poor. You can see a photo of her enormous house in Pennsylvania on Wikipedia. She attended private school and was rich in her own right by age 17. I like her music, and facts are facts. The lost love and whatnot she wrote about is what people want to hear. |
She's amazing and one of the smartest, most business savvy women of the industry. I love her. Her music is not great, but who cares, she's a marketing genius. |
I have read more about Taylor Swift than I have listened to her music. I do feel like people are dying to call her racist- she is just too well-behaved and it seems to irritate people. She doesn’t perform porn onstage; therefore, she must think she’s better than fans of WAP. Gwen Stefani and Miley Cyrus have been accused of cultural appropriation and they really can’t win. No WOC as back up dancers is a problem and having WOC as dancers is equally problematic. God forbid the dancer’s performance isn’t up to exacting yet evanescent standards that aren’t written anywhere. It appears that Taylor Swift is just insufferably White. |
I find her boring. |
For someone who is lauded for her songwriting ability, she has a LOT of terrible lyrics:
https://hooksandharmony.com/30-worst-taylor-swift-lyrics/ I mean, you can say this is partly due to the sheer volume of songs she has written, which is true. There are also examples of clever turns of phrase or catchy lyrics. But it's ALSO true that many, many of her songs are simply the ramblings of an emotionally immature person trying to sound "poetic" about love and romance when they haven't every really experienced much more than shallow relationships with short-term boyfriends. I find some of her more heavily produced, dance-able songs really fun and catchy but simply do not understand the appeal of the vast majority of her songs and don't understand why she gets lauded for her lyrics at all. I have a stack of journals from my late teens/early 20s full of stuff like this. It's relatable (or was when I was that age) but not impressive. |
I never understood the fascination with this woman. Her music is bland and so is she. How she is such a star is beyond me. |
Taylor's songs are far better and classic than the 100% fake Beyonce hype. Beyonce's "yessssss queen" hype is the fakest astroturfed nonsense I've ever seen. |
I love you. |
Maybe it is you. After all you can point out that she is successful by all the means...she has sold albums. popular and sold out shows and many awards. I find that if she was a man no one would criticize her. |
