The United States Secret Service is a rogue agency

Precisely. One of the questions for top secret clearance is whether you have associates who are from another country. Two USSS guys were letting Iranians pay their rent in a high-priced apartment building. They partied with the Iranians. Who knows how much confidential info was disclosed? One of Iranians claimed to be Pakistani Intelligence. Why have these two not been fired and why has the USSS not given a disposition? This has been going on since April. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/04/07/us/impersonators-secret-service.html

The guys who are drinking and whoring can be blackmailed. It's dangerous.

Why are you people surprised that an Executive Branch Agency would act with impunity a delete communications requested by Congress ? After all, the Dept of Homeland Security runs " assessments" on anyone an employee has a grudge against, reads the email of innocent Americans, uses Pegasus to hack the iPhones of innocent Americans to read our texts, intercepts any What's App communication and creates fake FB accounts to stalk us on FB and IG

Do you know what the counter-assault team does? What their job is? What they’re tasked with doing, if called upon? What their training regime is like? Read up on them. It’s not the type of job most people could/would do.

It takes a very particular kind of person to do what they might be called upon to do. It’s a super-alpha-male type of personality that is required, not just to do their specific task, but to even endure the ongoing training. The type of men (and the very, very few women) suited to the team or even capable of doing the job, are of a hyper aggressive, combative, competitive type personality.

They’re basically the attack dogs. Paid to repel (and die) any attack on the President and soak up casualties while the protective team gets the POTUS out of the area of the attack.
People who go to work everyday fully expecting to be engaged in a machinegun and rocket battle against terrorists. And expecting to get wounded or killed at work, if the scenario they train for daily ever happens. These guys aren’t normal. Therefore it’s absurd to apply normal values and mores to them.

As long as they’re fit for duty and report for their shifts, I cut them all the slack in the world for any trouble they get in in off duty hours.

What a load of crap. The president and VP does not trust the agents or the organization. These agents are unfit for duty because of their unprofessional behavior. Married agents whoring, using drugs, drinking, getting in fights at bars while on assignment, etc compromises the mission. Being shown video of yourself having sex with whores and being asked how your wife would like the video is professional? The rot is total. There is no way the current personnel employed and organization needs to be shut down. The US Army can provide protect services till the USSS is rebuilt from the ground up.

Again the current president does not trust the USSS, the former VP does not trust the USSS and the the USSS refused a direct order of a sitting President. The organization can not do its mission.

You don’t understand “the army” if you think most of the military is trained or capable of protecting POTUS.

There are maybe 400 personnel in the US Army who are capable of what the CAT does. And none of them are within 250 miles of here. And those folks are committed to other things right now.

Hahaha you have to love the keyboard warriors who think they know what the Army or USSS does daily. Same folks who hate on the police. First folks who call 9-1-1 on a dime and expect to be saved from every situation. Reading cherry-picked press reports about the USSS and forming opinions about the entirety of the organization is third grade stuff. Be better.

We know what they can't do. Tell the truth
We know what they won't do. Preserve democracy
We know what they don't do. Follow the law.

Are they keystone stone cop incompetent or are they coup plotting evil? Those are the only two choices left after the intentional destruction of those texts.

Major Biden knew

THIS

deleting the Texts during the coup attempt completely DESTROYS the public perception and TRUST Forever....

I’m old enough to remember that when the FBI stated that wiping Strzok’s and Page’s phones was procedural, it wasn’t questioned and anyone who did was mocked and ridiculed. Consistency people!

https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2022/07/20/secret-service-national-archives/

A watchdog agency learned in February that the Secret Service had purged nearly all cellphone texts from around the time of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, but chose not to alert Congress, according to three people briefed on the internal discussions.

In recent days, one former employee approached the Project on Government Oversight (POGO), an independent government-accountability group, and described the decision from Cuffari’s office not to promptly disclose that Secret Service records had been wiped from agency phones starting in January 2021. The group relayed the information to congressional staff, who independently corroborated the account with a second whistleblower.

The congressional staff and two whistleblowers shared a concern that Cuffari’s office not alerting congressional investigators to the missing records reduced the chances of recovering critical pieces of evidence related to the Jan. 6 attack.

Cuffari’s delay in reporting the problem necessarily lowers the odds of retrieving data that wasn’t properly backed up and archived.

There is so much collaborative effort to destroy democracy. All these people should be punished severely. But probably would not happen. US is exploding from within.

It is from within, yes, but it’s not organic. Fascist dark money interests are driving this around the world.

Maybe the billionaires should all just go colonize Mars right now. Go reinvent humanity by their bootstraps and spare the rest of us their meddling.

Where is Biden on this? He is the president and should be able to get to the bottom of this is half a day? I just can not believe the lawlessness.

DHS inspector general tells Secret Service to stop investigating potentially missing texts due to 'ongoing criminal investigation'

The Department of Homeland Security inspector general has informed the Secret Service it is investigating what happened to January 6-related text messages that may have been deleted, describing it as an "ongoing criminal investigation" and directing the agency to stop its internal investigations into the matter, according to a letter reviewed by CNN.

"This is to notify you that the Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General has an ongoing investigation into the facts and circumstances surrounding the collection and preservation of evidence by the United States Secret Service as it relates to the events of January 6, 2021," DHS Deputy Inspector General Gladys Ayala wrote in a July 20 letter to Secret Service Director James Murray.

The inspector general continued: "To ensure the integrity of our investigation, the USSS must not engage in any further investigative activities regarding the collection and preservation of the evidence referenced above. This includes immediately refraining from interviewing potential witnesses, collecting devices or taking any other action that would interfere with an ongoing criminal investigation."
