The kind of messaging that encourages boys to give up on and/or hate women. (To your post, it makes them think that the risks of false rape accusations are way more likely that they actually are.)

Virginity is on the rise for sure but it’s a dual issue in fact — female virginity and lack of pair bonding is also a big problem. There are many issues the male faces in modern society but let’s not completely forget the issues that the woman faces as as well which this thread seems to be doing.

As an aside — my ex made quite a lot of money off of male virginity. I hesitate to say the name of the site but she would sell photographs of her Vageener and Booty-hole to lonely men.

Women are expected to be pretty. You don’t want to be a “plain Jane” do you? That’s a negative comment about women but there’s not a “plain jack”. Some men don’t even seem to know how to properly groom themselves. A well groomed beard can be attractive but a ZZ Top one? Not for most women. Many men just seem to have no idea how to make themselves look presentable.

They’ve been handed the keys to the family car since age 16 with little to no effort. There’s a sort of expectation that they should just get things without work and that includes a belief they’re owed women by virtue of being men. This obviously isn’t all men but the incels certainly seem to feel this way. When they realize that finding a woman to date isn’t as easy as everything else in their lives have been, they seem to shut down and give up. They haven’t had to experience many challenges in their lives and are ill prepared for dating.

I’ve known people that were essentially incels. My older brother is an example. I’ve heard him say things about women. I’ve received texts from him about Joe Rogan and other right wing mouth pieces. He seems to be falling into the Manosphere. I’m not sure he’s gone full on incel but I wouldn’t be surprised.

Men absolutely have privilege. For white men, this is even more extreme because white men control so much of the country/world. I would know, I used to closeted and presented as a cis white man before I transitioned. These incels blame women for their own lack of effort. Dating can be fun but it’s also hard and can be scary. They’re not used to challenges.

I think incels are often dangerously toxic individuals, but I also think you have the wrong idea of their supposed life of ease. They are often boys who weren't athletic, conventionally attractive, or popular. The male privilege (which is real) doesn't particularly kick in until a guy is in his 20s or 30s. They are picked on by other guys, ignored or ridiculed by women, and are often just plain miserable. That doesn't justify or excuse their hatred and mistreatment of women. But thinking that their life has been easy is a mistake.
