Married women with children made up 56% of abortions

At our clinic, an overwhelming number of abortions were obtained by married, 30-and-40-something women who already had a kid or a few kids. We heard the same stories over and over "My kids are teens. I cannot be pregnant again." "I can't believe I was so careless. My first pregnancy almost killed me and I can't go through that again." "My marriage is just getting back on good footing again. A new baby will destroy it all." And of course, "I don't want another kid. I'm happy with what I have."

And guess what? We even had several women seek out abortions who had previously been out front protesting with their church group and who would be back out there protesting again later that same week. You don't say anything ever. You don't make judgement. And why? Because it (was) their right to choose even if they loudly voiced against it to other women walking in.

I was there for 5 years total and to be frank, I don't even think I saw a dozen teen abortions in all those years. I never saw any under 18, that I'm certain of. Teen abortions were almost always 18-19 year olds and tied to post-rape.

Also, any woman who has had a D&C or even suffered a miscarriage will tell you that no, women aren't using incredibly painful and invasive procedures as birth control. It's just not happening.

And yet they use it for sex selection. Stop making women out to be saints. They will use abortion for whatever they want and you have no grounds to reject, no matter how vile the reason. Irony of all you calling out femicide when sex selected abortions is one of main reasons why place like china is missing an entire generation of women.

Where the f**k did that come from? And why do you think you should be the one to decide whether another person's reasons are vile and reject their decisions? Are you the person being asked to perform the abortion?

Ok so you are ok with abortion for characteristics selection (sex, height, intelligence, skin color). Got it. Who is advocating for a dystopian future now...

But hey, at least you are honest. But that is not a future I want to live in and will fight to my last breath to prevent it.

It’s none of my damn business. The future you want is government small enough to fit into a uterus. That’s a horrifying future, which we know because it was a horrifying past.

This is why I don't understand how black women 'supposedly' get the most abortions when the vast majority of black women are not married.

The math isn't mathing.

What’s going to happen now? Can these states afford all the sick and special needs babies?

Yep. We are UMC and have three kids. Had an oops pregnancy a couple of years ago. Terminated early because we emphatically did not want a fourth child. We could probably afford a fourth if we stretch thin, but I don't want to stretch thin. And I emphatically do not want to go through pregnancy, babyhood, sleepless nights etc. again. No regrets whatsoever.

We also have three embryos on ice that are scheduled for "compassionate disposal" or whatever they call it.

Perhaps you could consider donating your embryos to another family. Many families who can't conceive for whatever reason but can carry can embryo to term look for embryos to adopt. Give them a chance at life and help another family.

NO.

96% of abortions are happening by week 16.
Gender selection just isn’t happening here.

Don't be silly, CVS can tell you at week 10.

DP. You think all these women were getting CVS before abortions? Are you serious?

"CVS testing is not a standard part of prenatal care. Your healthcare provider may offer this option if you have certain risk factors, abnormalities detected on early ultrasounds or abnormal genetic (vs blood) screening." ( https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diagnostics/4028-chorionic-villus-sampling-for-prenatal-diagnosis )

It's not covered by insurance, unless medically indicated (and sometimes not then). Nobody is paying for this out of pocket so they can abort the non-chosen gender. WTF is wrong with you.

I'm not saying a damn thing about "these women". I don't really know who you mean, anyway.

I'm just correcting your erroneous statement that the baby's sex cannot be surmised till week 18, because it can.

I've had CVS three times and insurance paid every time, but then again, I have a cadillac.

Why were you getting CVS, if not for medical indication? Were you selecting for sex, or something?

If it *was* for medical indication, then it isn't a very good counterexample, is it? As I said, it's generally covered by insurance for medical indication.

Can you read?

My insurance covers it on demand. I wasn't willing to carry an abnormal fetus so I had a CVS. It's very easy to get medical indication approved, fyi.

Appreciate your honesty about your abortions.

Are you comparing percentages or raw numbers?

I thought a lot before my abortion and decided that it was the wrong time for me to be pregnant (grad school, debts, no support from the father). This is what most women who have abortions do. It's called being a responsible citizen.

How does it feel to facilitate a murder for your convenience?

Dp- I would like to thank her for not bringing an unwanted child into the world. The world needs more people like her.

More children are murdered by women doing it for convenience than are killed by gun violence yearly. Nice stat to be a part of! You should be so proud!

As you're asking, I feel perfectly fine about my choice. I was upset for a while afterwards, but that's because I loved the father and it was shocking to find out that he wasn't on the same page as me. Now I have a child that wouldn't have been born if I had not had an abortion. I was able to graduate, get a high paying professional job, and pay off my student loans. The child I have now has a stable home life and a great father. We can afford private school and have saved enough to pay for his college education.

Glad you are fine with being someone who facilitated a murder.

Quick!
There’s a gunman running right toward you! You can only save this
a) canister of frozen embryos
or
b) this second grader.
Which do you choose to save?
No sane person would even pause.

You do realise that abortion has always, and will always, happen, and there is nothing that you can do about it? Even with draconian anti-abortion laws, women will still find a way around them. How are you going to police millions of women of child-bearing age in states that ban abortion? Are you going to tap their phones? Open their mail? Make sure they can't leave the state without a pregnancy test?
