Married women with children made up 56% of abortions

And guess who will suffer? Their wives and children. Domestic violence and child abuse will go up. Just like it does everywhere women are denied agency over their reproductive health.

Yes. I think I read somewhere that this is the reason. They just don’t want more kids.

You read somewhere?! No chance.

Why is this inconceivable to you? Is it because you have to attribute the noblest reasons to these women for you to justify supporting abortion to yourself? If the baby is just a clump of cells, why these women abort becuase they simply don't want another child?

Just a reminder that abortion is used frequently in Asia for sex selection. I hope you can reinvent that to sound more noble.

I do not believe that for one second!!

DP. According to a NYT article (no paywall on this one) which is based on CDC data,:

Six in 10 women who have abortions are already mothers, and half of them have two or more children, according to 2019 data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “One of the main reasons people report wanting to have an abortion is so they can be a better parent to the kids they already have,” Professor Upadhyay said.

Can we at least deal with facts and not beliefs or feelings when we are talking about statistics?

I was told that it was brunching sluts, using abortion as birth control, after they are seven months pregnant.

Yeah. This puts the Republicans at odds with “honoring your husband” when he wants sex.

I believe the numbers but not their reasons - at least not as you are reading it. A special needs child is a burden on the family and the other kids do sacrifice.

Yes. And often it is their husbands/partners insisting on the abortion. Femicide at the hands of enraged men will increase.

Well the numbers don’t support that argument either.
96% of abortions are happening BEFORE screenings. These fetuses are aborted quickly. They aren’t wanted because they aren’t wanted.
And that’s ok.

This. It’s ok. I don’t know why we’ve all been scared into silence about this but the pools show the vast majority of Americans agree it’s ok.

99% of abortions happen before 3rd trimester, majority of them by women who are poor. Don’t think this is due to birth defects. This is the reason the extremists want full bans or have heartbeat laws. Partial bans at 15 weeks would prevent 2-3% of abortions and those would be extremely complicated cases. They want to force women to give birth to white babies and adopt them. Sounds crazy I know, but it is the true reason behind their zealotry.

Even the Vatican came out and had to say, if you care about life then you care about gun control and caring for the children that are already born. Hypothetical life does not take precedence over humans that are already here.

My husband and I have been together for 15 years and have two wonderful children. We use condoms as birth control because I can't be on hormonal birth control due to a medical condition. We have talked several times that if the condom breaks or we have an accidental pregnancy abortion would be the choice. That would be the best for our family. We have no interest or want for more children and are very happy with our current lifestyle and financial stability.

See the other thread where someone posted a post from Facebook where the woman literally said she wanted to adopt the babies.

What’s going to happen now? Can these states afford all the sick and special needs babies?

Yep. We are UMC and have three kids. Had an oops pregnancy a couple of years ago. Terminated early because we emphatically did not want a fourth child. We could probably afford a fourth if we stretch thin, but I don't want to stretch thin. And I emphatically do not want to go through pregnancy, babyhood, sleepless nights etc. again. No regrets whatsoever.

We also have three embryos on ice that are scheduled for "compassionate disposal" or whatever they call it.

Perhaps you could consider donating your embryos to another family. Many families who can't conceive for whatever reason but can carry can embryo to term look for embryos to adopt. Give them a chance at life and help another family.

Surprising statistic. Certainly not the pro-abortion group narrative.

I have no idea what you are saying here.
A) there is no “pro-abortion” group
B) pro choice doesn’t have a narrative about the “types”
Of people who need abortions. It’s is an advocacy for choice.
That’s it.
