Separaton of Church and State

What is the recourse when SC justices lie (offer "alternative facts") in their opinion to support their rulings? We are doomed as a country, right?

What would Jesus say:
"And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you" (Matthew 6:5–6.)

We’re using an example to try and explain how WE feel. Apparently you have no empathy.

Wow - you are late to the party.

Kindly explain?

And, that pic that Sotomayor included..... note that there are players from TWO teams there. So, players from the opposing team joined in the prayer.

Testimony from the hearing showed he invited the opposing coach and team to join them. The school had offered him a private place, he refused and insisted on the 50 yd line. Students testified to feeling pressured.

No student is forced to participate in a post game prayer. This decision affirms the right for a coach to pray publicly following a game (or before a game).

This does not violate the separation of church and state.

Yes it does.... I can't wait till a teacher or coach prays to Allah or Budah with the class. I wonder was the MAGAS will say. Probably their favorite words "indoctrination" "grooming". Such hypocrisy with the right.

Well, I for one, can’t wait for public stoning and dunking witches.

SCOTUS is full of Justices who went to private religious schools where coerced public displays of religion are expected.

I am thankful God is taking back the places people were restricted from their free exercise of religion. In the oral argument, the lawyer for the district said coercion of students had nothing to do with this case. Many chose to join his sessions.

It speaks wonders to know so many from the stands rushed the field to join the coach in prayer.

This was such the right decision.

Many felt like they had to join his sessions because then they wouldn’t get playing time over those who did if they didn’t.

And this will happen in classrooms too...kids might get a bad grade or be looked down upon by their extremely religious teacher.

Those coaches would be fired.

Tennessee was advancing a marriage bill this year with NO AGE MINIMUM, so the things you mention are not that far off.

I guess all the folks who treat religion as a performative art and a sport did no read this passage.

This decision is one more chipping away at the separation of church and state with the ultimate goal of requiring the full funding of religious schools.
