I used to think that Pete Davidson was only in the show as Lorne Michael’s charity case. Like if Pete won his ultimate Make A Wish grant. I could not understand how a great comedian such as Jim Carey could fail his SNL audition yet Pete Davidson won his. His constant breaking character in his skits made him appear untalented and unprofessional. However especially these past 2 seasons I think his worth to the show has been hugely solidified. His Chad skits never disappoint and his musical shorts are nothing short of amazing. He killed it with his Stan, Squid Game and his Staten Island songs. He also did an excellent job in his King of Staten Island movie which I feel was underrated due to people’s strong dislike for him. I feel it took him a very long time but he now has the respect and accolades he deserves. He definitely earned his stripes and was never an overnight success. I am glad his talent has been recognized and at his age 28, am positive he will solidify his success tenfold. *Sidenote: he is and always was handsome in my eyes. Sort of in a Jared Leto type of way.

For some odd reason Davidson’s departure garnered more headlines than Kate the Great. And Kate has enormously more talent than Pete. Guess he is more relevant in pop culture.
Sad that pop culture values popularity over authentic raw talent….. |
Well, the "pop" in pop culture is short for popular.... |
Pete is NBC's golden boy. Their PR department has done an incredible job turning this mediocre guy into a legit star. They have bailed him out of so much crap and kept him cocooned when he was dealing with some major crises. I honestly think Lorne views him like a son for whatever reason. |
