It’s entirely possible that she is awful to her staff and a generally terrible person and at the same time the victim of horrendous racism. Both can be true.

Sorry if I find it hard to feel sorry for a wealthy privileged bully.

There's currently zero evidence that she's actually a bully. All we have to work off of are rumors. And judging from the source(s) of the rumors, you can understand why people are skeptical.

Is Meghan still at the palace? No? Then why hasn’t her behavior changed?

What evidence is there of this supposed, "behavior?" I think of them rarely and they seem to mostly be doing their own thing in Montecito 99% of the time, barring this most recent visit (That seemed fine?).

Meghan Markle had had it with Hollywood—big-time. She’d just turned twenty-nine. It had been seven years since she’d graduated from the prestigious Northwestern University in Chicago with a double major in theater and international studies, and instead of being hailed as the next Angelina Jolie, she was stuck in the professional equivalent of Nowhere-stan.

Four years after her General Hospital debut, she was still hoofing it as one of twenty-six “briefcase girls” wearing a shimmery sateen minidress and gold stilettos on the NBC game show Deal or No Deal. The girls—all beauties, but none as vividly gorgeous as number twenty-four, Meghan Markle, with her blazing smile—were required to descend a neon-lit staircase en masse at the opening of the show to a raucous soundtrack of pelvic-thrusting electronic guitar music, and chorus “Hi, Howie!” at the rollicking game show barker Howie Mandel. The girl who opens the winning silver briefcase holding anywhere between one cent and a million dollars gets the most airtime. “I would end up standing up there forever in these terribly uncomfortable and inexpensive five-inch heels just waiting for someone to pick my number so I could go and sit down,” she has said.

Someone explain to me what’s so horrid about working hard in your chosen profession? Is it considered posh to make fun of people who might not find immediate success in their jobs? Feels terribly outdated.

It is considered clever.

I hope Sunshine Sachs pays overtime, you’re up late. Or are you from their second (new) PR company?

Yes, we get that you are fine with horrendous racism. That’s clear.

Take a xanax.

I'm halfway through the article and Meghan sounds like everything we teach our kids to be: determined; hard-working; persistent; willing to sacrifice for her dream; etc. and she gets her big break via talent and hustle. What am I missing? Her blog also makes it seem like she was more thoughtful/astute than the average Hollywood wannabe.

I'm the other PP who posted after reading part of the article and unknowingly wrote almost the same thing as this PP.

Okay, I read the whole thing now. I have the same reaction. I don't think any of this reflects badly on her. She wanted to be a big star, an influencer, someone with global recognition on the humanitarian front. She was ambitious. The horror!

How dare she? She was was high born.

LOVE this. so juicy. Definitely buying this book!

+1000

She sees through Meghan exactly how I see her.

I just read this whole excerpt and I don’t get it. What are we criticizing her for? She was ambitious at work? She liked SoHo house? She tried to do UN stuff? She wanted to meet Prince Harry? I just don’t see a villain. She seems like an ideal Duchess.

She is a vain status seeking social climber. She has her eye on global fame and was maneuvering towards that her whole life.

Not exactly the profile you want of someone who married into the monarchy of another country. It speaks to her true motivations. Fame and self aggrandizement.

Like….. Kate?

But she pretends she is a wall flower.

What kind of lazy ass considers mid night being late? Don't you have work and housework?

I don't get it, do you think this whole "Sunshine Sachs" / "Meghan pays you!!!" spiel is cute? Lmfao. You literally have the humor of a 12 year old. What a loser.

Anonymous wrote:What's interesting is that if you actually listen to the Oprah interview, it was Oprah who first brought up the race angle, not Meghan. In fact, Meghan was quick to suggest that it was probably a number of different factors (misogyny, anti-Americanism) that contributed to the animus against her. And yet everyone and their mother has attributed to Meghan and Harry an almost manic race-baiting aggressiveness, when in fact they've been extremely evenhanded in how they talk about the racism they've faced.

Oprah asked them what they wanted from the interview beforehand. You are naive if you think they didn’t tell her anything.

So you think Meghan and Harry coached Oprah to ask them if they thought their mistreatment was due to racism? And you think Meghan and Harry rehearsed how to say, "Well, it was probably a bunch of different things." You think there's a scriptwriter for these kinds of things? Maybe a speaking coach? Oh, maybe it was all Sunshine Sachs, the secret underground cabal of media masterminds that secretly controls the mainstream media!

You sound unhinged.

It's telling that you don't see the irony in that statement. I know it can be hard facing your own reflection.

I don't even like Meghan. I don't care about her. I just think it's hilarious seeing all of her haters get so worked up about her. In that sense, maybe I do like Meghan only because she seems to reeeeeally rile up a certain demographic that I find truly irritating. Go Meghan! Sign me up, Sunshine Sachs!
