Like they recognize it de-humanizes and de-values women and are OK with doing that themselves, but freak out when other men do it to their girlfriend/wife/sister/etc.

If you wouldn't want your female partner doing it, you shouldn't be, either.

I think part of the problem was that she was buying these things for these other men, and he didn't get any.
Outside of the moral dilemma, I think this was a big thing.
