| I grew up In Rockville in the 70’s there was a gang called the “brook boys”, I think there was another gang too I forgot their name something a little more ominous. |
I actually think acquaintance rapes are the greatest threat to our HS students and drugs, especially pills laced with Fentanyl . If you look at actual # of rapes on “white girls” since that is my child’s demographic the biggest threat is a white male that they know. You worry about crime that bothers you most I will worry about crime that affects my family. Rich white boys are the biggest threat, good lawyers give them immunity from prosecution and that’s scary to live beside. |
There were never gangs in Lincoln Park, just black families. Twinbrook had the brook boys… most are lawyers and accountants now |
what gang activity is going on there? Do you have proof that MS13 members live in those neighborhoods? Not saying that they don't, but I can't really say definitively since I have no proof. If you have proof, I'd love to see it. How old are you? I'm in my 50s. MS13 is a scary group, but as a PP noted, they don't generally go after regular residents. Lower income neighborhoods have higher crime. That's the way it is all over the world. So yes, those lower income areas have a lot more crime than the wealthier parts of Rockville, like 20854. But I don't know that MS13 actually operates in Rockville city. |

I went to Blair in the late 90s when MS 13 was big in Moco. I know it's going to sound crazy, but I still think I got a better education than most. Even though some crazy things did happen (fights, knives, etc.).
Meanwhile, friends from my homeschool (BCC) went to parties where there was a lot of cocaine, ectasy, etc. There were a lot of mental health issues going on. My understanding is that it was a problem in the privates at that time too. I don't think there's really a "safe" place to go in large urban public schools, tbh. Certainly not large enough differences at least. It's kind of life in America. Either it's this or going to school with Maga. Pick your poison. |
You obviously have an ax to grind against rich white boys, that is your problem and your therapist. Your issues do not discount the violence and danger to our communities of the gang activity. It is very real, and the Fentanyl laced tablets you speak of, where do you think they come from? Come on man. |
I grew up in Wheaton in the 80's and I remember Freaks (jean jackets) and Grits (leather jackets). They had a big fight over by Freaks' Bridge in the Village. A guy got stabbed. Another time, a Grit party was invaded by Freaks and a guy got stabbed with a pitchfork. These were white teenagers, btw. |
They don’t … PP has not 1 google that has hit on MS-13 in Rockville. |
Is this for real. It reads like the Outsiders. That sounds so tame compared to what we see now, though. |
It really happened! I was young, but my sister dated a Freak. |
eh.. for a city that someone thinks has a gang problem, the housing costs are crazy. |
I work in law enforcement. Fentanyl is not a gang drug, lady. It’s order off the internet with that credit card rich kids get at 15. Every Fentanyl overdose this year was a W kid or Private school kid, all boys, all white. I’ve busted enough parties to know lots of drugs and alcohol west side. Pot on the east side. Lots of alcohol north (Damascus/Sherwood), though pot is everywhere. |
It wasn’t. Crime was peaking at the time, cocaine was everywhere. But Revisionist history in your mind helps you scream “MoCo is going down hill”, go for it .. cognitive Dissidence runs rampant. |
I have more stories. The Freaks were from Viers Mill Village, the Grits were from the "other side of the Village". The whole neighborhood was/still is a sh1thole, but the other side of the Village was slightly less poor (hence the leather jackets). A Grit, who was actually a really nice guy, was driving his moped and a Freak drove him off the road and he died. |
