DP...there is one person on the task force who is running for public office. Why shouldn't she be held accountable for this abysmal process? Is this what we should expect should she win the Council seat?

Err, I said I'm fine with them speaking up which is how democracy is supposed to work. I'm refuting wrapping them in the cape as having " as big an investment". They certainly have needs, but the same investment? Not sure. Fwiw, I've been both I'm Ward 3 - renter and homeowner .

Is this the Tricia Duncan? Please tell us more about her. Also, will this be a run off election? There are so many running for this seat, without winnowing down someone like Ms.Duncan could win with like 12 votes and substantial opposition in the community, just because the next three each got 11 votes . So she's not really the "winner", the votes against just got diluted .

It sounds like (according to today's Post) there is a Republican running who needs 50 more signatures. I'd say that once he collects those he may be a good option for everyone to vote for. DC Republicans are usually VERY moderate, and he'd be a good balance to our far left Council if so. I'd like more info on his platform.

He won't be on the ballot until November. June is the Dem primary. The Republican is running as an anti environmentalist, opposed to new devlopment, bike lanes etc, contrary to the Mayor's Vision Zero and the Biden Administration agenda.

I doubt he gets more than 20% of the NIMBY vote in the ward.

Ironic to have an any business, anti-development republican.
