“Donbas Bob” Ward is out with an admittedly non-scientific poll, claiming that his candidate Bo Finley is the top contender in rank-choice voting. After the Ward 3 gerrymandering mess, Mr Wads has little credibility left.

I saw that poll and you are mischaracterizing the intent. he was simply showing how Ranked Voting works. Obviously what he showed was marketed to his CTIC group so of course it would skew towards Beau. But that wasn't the intent, IMO.

So having split up Ward 3 ANCs on the redistricting task force, Bob Ward now is on social media actively recruiting new ANC candidates who will enact his smart growth lobbying agenda. Trump and Manafort must be unavailable.

After Mr Ward’s frantic epic fail to get his handpicked Ward 3 candidate (Beau Finley) elected, his Cleveland Park Smart Growth seems more like a paper tiger … or just another lobbyist’s “astroturf” group.

The fact is, the candidates who support a "smart growth" platform represented over 95% of the votes cast for Ward 3 candidates.
