Times change. Deal with it. |
My 86 years old mother doesn't drive or travel by plane. I took her to DMV to get Real ID. Why can't you? |
Why would you admit being so ignorant? |
You’re wrong. Start here in this other thread: http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/240/1028262.page#21740028 |
What changed? I keep seeing Republicans get arrested for voter fraud. Hell, Youngkin's kid tried to commit voter fraud twice. |
| We had pretty strict voter ID laws here not that long ago. I think it was a non-expired state photo ID card, like a drivers license or a state ID. That didn’t stop VA from electing Democrats though. Then the state legislature got rid of the strictest ID requirements and then we elected a R governor. Coincidence, I think not. |
That may be particular to your doctors, but is not universal. Even when I update my insurance information with my established doctors, they do not request photo id. Furthermore, nursing home residents (one of the populations we’ve been discussing) generally don’t need to go to Lab Corp for blood draws; those are done on site at the nursing facility. Your self-centered insistence that everyone’s experience must be the same as yours is ignorant and flat-out wrong. |
Because when Republicans can't win, they change the system to rig it so they can win. |
|
Isn’t two of the principles of conservatism that change should be implemented just for the sake of change, and that any change should be incremental? This seems to violate both of them. |
Excellent point. Isn't this what Dems are always saying? "Times change, deal with it"? Interesting that they can't manage to roll with this. Actually, the vast majority of Americans agree with voter ID laws. It's just the few wackos who feel the need to fight it. |
| Hmm . . . which party approved of, renewed, and expanded REAL ID? Oh yeah - Obama’s party. |
DP. How on earth is this a "drastic change"? There probably isn't anything more incremental than this. Most people already have ID. The few who don't can get it. The end. |
Does the GOP want to require REAL ID for voting now?!?! |
Were people of different races allowed to marry in 1964? Were gay people allowed to marry in 1984? It's called progress. I thought Dems profess to be all about progress? |
