DP and no. All you need is a picture ID - not RealID. You can calm your outrage.

I don't believe this for a minute. Every single healthcare provider I have ever gone to has required my ID. |
+ a million It is absolutely idiotic. |
You can keep insisting this, but you will still be wrong. |
As another PP correctly stated, the first time you see any medical provider, you will be asked to show your ID. Often, they'll ask for it every time you go, but not always. |
This! Personally, I don't think the ID is a huge deal. Yes, some people have an issue getting an ID but that has to be a small piece of likely voters. What's hugely impactful is making it hard for people to get to the polls -- limiting mail in voting, getting rid of ballot drop boxes, cutting early voting hours. Republicans only want people to vote during limited hours on one specific day when lots of people need to be at work. And limit polling places so there are long lines that deter people from voting. None of those things that make voting easier logistically are a security risk. They just encourage more people to vote by making it easier for people with inflexible jobs, long hours, transportation limitations. And Democrats tend to use them more. If Republicans used them more Republicans would be up in arms about expanding voter access. But, since they don't, they want to cut them. Republicans are anti-democracy. |
I don't live in the state. Next question, dummy? Also, many nursing home residents are too frail to leave the facility. |
Just took my kids to the doctor today and did not need to show id. |
Sort of like when you register to vote, you have to show proof of residency. After that, you're good to go. |
I just saw a dermatologist for the first time yesterday and they didn’t ask for ID. It was a very short appt and she just recommended an OTC treatment. She doesn’t take insurance. Maybe that’s why? |
Unexpired photo ID |

I am FOR enabling everyone to vote; but not requiring a photo id is insane. What would prevent a random person from voting over and over again through the day? Also just about everything else requires a photo id and you are good with those things. Here are examples of things that require a photo id:
cities such as NYC and DC require a photo id along with a vaccine card to enter a restaurant. board an airplane adopt a pet apply for a fishing license But how dare we ask for a ID to vote??? Really??? Would you let someone without a verified identity into your child's school? But it is OK for someone without a verified identity to help elect the leader of the free world???? huh??? |
Not even your own ID, along with your insurance card? |
None of those are constitutional rights. |
